Thread regarding Ford layoffs

How is morale in your org?

People are pretending nothing happened and are going along their merry way when in reality I am noticing people being much slower and way more disengaged.

I wouldn't be surprised if half my org quit or was fired in a few months

Ford is dead. Hackett should rot, the idi0t initiated the so-called ' smart redesign ' that targeted older employees and continues to eliminate those that stood by Ford during some of the worst years. Disgraceful. Hackett FAILED as a leader of Ford Smart Mobility and Failed as a CEO. Farley and Field continue to FAIL. Both talk but produce no results. All the EV programs are delayed. No one makes decisions and no accountability or reward for those that do. Lawler looks like cr@p, he knows the continued termination of employees to boost stock price isn't sustainable. Mark T is looking wrecked, he can't keep spewing lies that all is good at Ford. What a mess. Is there a solution, of course, terminate Farley, Field and the rest of the fakes. Shorten contracts and hold C-suite accountable. Educate and retrain staff. GM's Barra has demonstrated success. " It's not that difficult. " Sound familar Doug? Loser.

It’s great! I’m working at Stellantis now, where leadership created academies to retrain existing employees as well as new hires to have the new skills that are needed to ensure quality products. What a great concept! I’m glad Ford fired me last August, I wasn’t at that time, but it’s all better now.

As an engineer, all I have to make a living with are ideas and knowledge, however,
Ford lays claim to all my ideas and all my knowledge. If I am terminated and continue to try to make a living from those things, they say they own whatever comes from them into perpetuity.

Ford wants me to go away quietly and shuffle off into poverty…. an empty shell.

In the meantime I am paid a pittance to pretend to work. What is there to feel depressed or unmotivated about??

My org is 100% white, no ethnic minority (Black, Latinos, LGTB, Muslims, Indians, Chinese) they were either SIRP'ed in 2023 / 2022 or pushed out the org. in previous years. Most of the LL's are white males in their early 50's , there are a few white female LL;s in their late 40's or early 50's. LL's protect themselves and fight hard to stay employed. Director is a white male who was promoted because of his link with previous and current VP's. Ford is a white male dominated organization with some isolated minority heads (Kumar, etc.) DEI is just lip service but the fact of the matter is that Ford is an equal opportunity employer if you are White, otherwise, it is just a matter of time that minorities will be SIRP'ed.

Everyone is trying to ignore it and move on but in one on one conversations they admit that they believe it's only a matter of time until they get laid off as well.

Seems like in our area, we're consistently buried in work, not enough resources or people to keep up. Everyone is pretty much burned out with it.

The morale is mixed the Friends and Family and other management track individuals are downright giddy as promotions are imminent. The rest morale is in the dumpster.

My org, and all the tangential orgs, are now almost 50% minority. Both at the GSR and LL6/5 levels.

As the saying goes, the beatings will continue until morale improves
