Thread regarding Bank of America layoffs

With RTO do you find yourself using more sick time?

With RTO, I'm having days where I get up and really don't feel like commuting to the office on top of the other cr-p. Since working from home is limited, anyone else burn the occasional sick day to avoid going in? Maybe go do something fun or relax at home. Unless you get sick often, it seems like this time off benefit would go to waste if we don't occasionally burn a day (since we stop accumulating more time once the bucket hits 80 hours).

Curious, how do you implement consequences on sick time when the company allows associates to use their sick time with no penalty?

I went back to office and infected with COVID and almost died because of my other conditions. It’s not worth it.

the RECORD EARNINGS we delivered for clients, shareholders and management they year we ALL WORKED FROM HOME!!!!

Very little to do with your effort and more to do with the circumstances, i.e. people WFH because of COVID needing infrastructure so they can WFH, order online, etc. etc.

Yaknow? The difference between causality and correlation?

Now get back to work .... I want some actual productivity!

@agi+1nvUV16U - Mr/Ms Mid Level Manager, how do you know they are faking?

Open floor seating is a germ-infested petri dish of all sorts of cooties - predominantly COVID, which is still very much around even for the vaccinated, dontcha know?

Rather than huffing and puffing about bu-t in seats coming into the office, how about focus on real productivity, like -- as a an example -- the RECORD EARNINGS we delivered for clients, shareholders and management they year we ALL WORKED FROM HOME!!!!

Treat us like the mature adults that we are and maybe even you will get more from your team.

I am one that does not take sick days unless I am truly sick or my family is sick. A couple of my coworkers use all of their sick days year after year. They are usually "sick" after a holiday or vacation.

As a mid level manager at Bank of America, I am beyond frustrated with the employees who abuse their sick time. It's unacceptable to run down your allotted balance and then miraculously recover for six months straight just to avoid being fired. Not only is this unethical behavior, but it also creates unnecessary strain on the team and disrupts productivity. It's time for these employees to step up and take responsibility for their actions. Otherwise, they are jeopardizing their own career growth. It's designed to provide a safety net for unforeseen circumstances, not as a vacation bank or excuse to continually call in sick. Unfortunately, there are always a few bad apples who end up running down their allocated sick time balance, leaving our team short-handed and negatively impacting our performance.

I completely understand your frustration trying to maintain productivity within your team. Have you considered implementing stricter guidelines and consequences for those who abuse their sick time? It may also be worth addressing this issue with HR to find a solution that works for both management and employees. In the meantime, try to track and document any patterns of excessive absenteeism to avoid any legal issues with dismissal.

I find myself actually getting sick more often going into the office. Doesn't help that we get "employees near you have testing positive for COVID" alerts every month. Good thing only about 20% of the employees in the building are actually coming in.

You mean like you were during while "working" from home? Yeah ... funny that.
