Thread regarding Ford layoffs

How many hours a week do you really work?

Seems like alot of people are trying to coast until September 25(?) to see if they will get laid off next.

I love working at Ford. I was hired from a tier 1 supplier that was working me 6 days a week and every other Sunday to keep the plant running. Now I sit at a computer most of the time for 9 hours a day, 5 days a week. No weekends, no crazy overtime, answering emails and attending useless meetings chaired by “engineers” who never actually engineer anything. I would say I do about 20 hrs of engineering a week; the rest of the time is email garbage and web surfing. The best thing is my boss says I am doing great, and Ford gave me a 15% pay raise to do less. I plan to enjoy my time at Ford, build my resume and bank the money tell they outsource all of us. Stop worrying about your Ford job, it is temporary.

Honestly, 45-60 when things are hitting the wall, 40-45 if not.

Y'all need to stop makin all this ruckus about us DEI folk...

I got hired to Ford last September. And I'm already promoted to a LL6.

Things is great here. Finally a company that UNDERSTAND what it's like for all their employees. They made it more fair to all us groups.

There was a time in this here country when certain groups did the brunt if the work while another groups got all the credit and spoils. Now we are back to that way of life - it's just that you people find y'all on the wrong end of the whip. You ain't had no problems with it before so why start now?

I hope things stay the way they is. It's looking great for so many people nowadays.

Maybe y'all should try taking a knee before NASCAR races to drum up some attention for your cause..

@afz+1nvx5Hw1. You should be more efficient and quit wasting personal time.

“What is the formula that chooses you?”

It appears to be, first, if a manager doesn’t like you, whether or not your separation is good for the company, second, if you’re over 50, third, if you are under 30 so they can claim there was no bias firing the old guys.

I work 10 to 12 hours Monday through Friday. Check email and answer emergency phone calls on weekends. Also, work at least one hour on every vacation day/holiday.

I was SIRP'd last August. I worked my @$$ off all last year until that point. No less than 45-50/week. Yet was SIRP'd.

The coasters? All spared. Then lesson here folks? It doesn't matter how hard you work or don't work. You'll be let go of the formula chooses you. If I could go back I would have coasted for months leading up to the August beheadings.

@OP. This week I worked 25 hours, but I am only getting paid 24 hours + 4th of July holidays. However, of those hours, most of them were empty meetings or long winding Ford processes. Real efficient work? 0 hours. Real work? Around 5-6 hours.

Just look for another job. Do as much online training, get up to date on latest tools, etc and start looking. Don't wait until after Sept 25th. At least have an offer letter in your hand just incase you do get laidoff.
