IT folks, is the ATT AIAS WiFi monitored by the company if accessed from a personal device?

Remember E&PS is outsourced too. I recall the day that the GREF team had to transition from XOM to CBRE.

It was a sad meeting and we all new it was just the beginning for everything else to be outsourced.

Everything can be tracked back two user, if wanted. Recall a colleague at Greenspoint put under fire due to badge reader history.

No, Pete.
You're not being monitored there.

No. It’s provided by AT&T, not EM, which should be abundantly clear when you click the “I agree” thingy, which also explicitly tells you that they have their own terms of use. Of course, if you paid attention to any of that sh-t, you would know this already and would have no need to ask this question. I imagine you will fit in well with Procurement.

I'm a Non IT person. Just setting the record straight, data center outage was an E&PS root cause (effectively not having trained people in the role). Good example of too much outsourcing and not managing the risk well. SKY needs to go!

They try to scare you by saying that they are, but the reality is they can’t even catch the Chinese employees sending proprietary information to their private emails in real time, so another paper tiger.

@ijx

The data center problem was E&PS dropping power again. Not IT.

IT Manager here. We don’t monitor AAIS as there is too much traffic, we don’t know who is using it, and don’t consider it to be using business assets. In fact it is used by visitors, contractors, and vendors, it doesn’t meet our B:C to track.

If you get on illegal sites or download illegal content, the FBI will get you, we have no interest financial or otherwise to spend money to monitor, track, and identify inappropriate use of non business assets.

Use your data if you are worried. If you are surfing https sites, you are likely to be safe.

OP - The Company selectively goes after people for cause and uses small infractions to justify their case. If you feel uncomfortable in your work group or situation you better keep your nose squeaky clean. Surfing questionable websites on Company time with Company resources is one area they can get you, along with minor expense report infractions, not being where you are supposed to be, etc

Nah those IT mor0ns can barely keep the lights on in the data center during a rainstorm. That outage a couple of weeks ago was a clear sign on how inept our IT people are.

You really think this company has its sh!t together to actively monitor all the pr0n you're watching while you have your door closed at work?

Further, do you really think that they can connect the activity from a phone to a specific person?

Some people in this company are afraid to f4rt without a manager telling them it's ok to do so.

Just get yourself a VPN service and use it when connected to the AIAS if you’re worried about it. The services range from free (ie slow) to ~$50 a year for faster ones.
