Thread regarding ExxonMobil Corp. layoffs

XOM! WE ARE NOT PACK MULES!

Houston Campus! Every morning I see people carrying in everything they need to just do their job! They are tilted to one side or the other. Over loaded. Some in visible discomfort moving all the bags around to eliviate pain and redistribute the weight. Why in the he!! Is this necessary? They are breaking down the bodies of our coworkers and ourselves for greed? For what? Everyday is a recordable incident by my personal definition! Everyday is an injury! This must stop! Repulses me every single day the hatred and disrespect! Don't speak safety! Do it!

To the field worker below with the long list of war stories - you should’ve tried harder in school.

Amen. Quit hiring all these entitled city kids from tier 1 schools with no understanding of machines or how the real world works.

Same goes for the pathetic board and executives. Have you seen what they do for them when they visit the field sites? The board and executives shouldn’t get anything more than the field gets when they visit.

Just about every site engineer in BR has an office with a door. We don’t have to carry stuff

@4yhn+1nyDUnLX was going to ignore you but your comments are so stupid I had to say something. 17 years in field now at the campus and one of the people you are suggesting don't have a clue. I have been a roustabout, lease operator, floor and Derrick hand, busted rod boxes with no tons, worked in 105 degree heat when none of the company field trucks had AC, fought fires, been soaked in oil from head to toe, had the skin burned off of my foot, smashed my fingers and open and closed enough valves that my body is torn up. Worked with many that have permanent injuries and some that died. So shut the f up!

@1bed: why on earth do you think leaving your laptop in the car makes sense? Do you leave your wallet in there? Briefcase or bag? Of course not, because THOSE THINGS ARE VALUABLE AND YOU KNOW IT… you deserve to get the thing stolen with that attitude.

And I’m sorry, but if y’all are hauling around that much stuff I have to really wonder what you actually do on campus.

Are you kidding? You snowflakes have never learned to work have you? If I were in charge I’d quit hiring from the Tier 1 schools and go hire some real men who grew up working on farms and ranches. Your backpack is too heavy? Give me a break. What are you going to do when they transfer you to the Permian? Never visit the field? Only go in the spring and fall when the weather isn’t too hot or cold? Too many of you don’t want to work for an oil company or work at all it seems.

When Hotdesking plan was announced, we were told that we would each be assigned a lockable drawer to keep items such as laptop, coffee cups, keyboards etc. that was a lie. We have to pack out everything every day and bring it back every morning.

Funny if people got busted for taking proprietary documents home because no place to keep in office!

Another loophole to enable firing/headcount reduction?

We want you to quit, retire, leave, get hurt, die. Hopefully, this will also motivate you to get the heck out of here.

@1bed How could a laptop get stolen out of your car? Go home first and drop off your laptop before going to the strip club. Why aren’t you bringing your laptop home every day? How do you do work at night without your laptop? How weak are you that a 4 pound laptop causes you to have an injury? How do you go food shopping, carry a suitcase on vacation? Boomer, you need to retire and get out of the way.

Yes you are now a pack mule.

Migratory pack mule grazing at a different desk each day.

Even if the desk you were in yesterday is empty when you arrive, take a different desk just to upset the guy that sat in that different desk 3 days in a row and he was starting to think Hotdesking not that bad.

Everyone should make an effort to get somebody’s desk if they use that desk 3 times in a row, just to remind them that Hotdesking is miserable.

@1pzl+1nyDUnLX Agian you expose your stupidity! There is no documented requirements for ability to carry #50 in Houston office staff positions. There may be some exceptions to this but not that I am aware of at this time. Shall I mention the liability of each employee carrying a company laptop home every night? What happens when it is stolen out of your vehicle? Better yet, why am I engaging with you because you obviously have been brainwashed and indoctrinated. AKA none of your own thoughts! What a waste!

@usf You are supposed to be able to carry 50 lbs. if you are bringing in more than that, you need to leave your personal things at home. Don’t bring your iPad to work so you can track stocks, shop, or watch movies or sports all day instead of working. What in the wide world of sports are you bringing in every day? If you are so broken or weak that you can’t carry a laptop, then it’s time for you to retire boomer and make room for the next generation, don’t be a placeholder anymore. We are the future, you are way in the past. You are the mouth behind the screen. Time for you to go to bed now.

@eld+1nyDUnLX Mouth behind the screen! You certainly hope so! If you had a brain cell and if you read the post, the observation is about multiple people observed daily. You are likely still young and stupid and think your body will always be strong (if it is). There are people that have been in auto accidents or other accidents that have injured them. There are people that have genetic diseases. In your world they are obviously disposable and need to get out-of your self important way! You are the problem with this place. You have no soul or common sense. Empty head and empty soul. Wish I could cross paths.

Hotdesking without even being assigned a lockable drawer to keep our stuff in. Even have to carry my cup home!

Insulting treatment from executive with palatial offices.

I hope the abandoned buildings fall into such disrepair that the company loses billion$ in property value and has to tear them down.

@wui+1nyDUnLX Ignorant person! If a person is injured, eventually they can't work or miss work and get "laid off" or ranked low. Sorry you can't comprehend. Oh hey, who made you POST POLICE? You are likely a supporter of censorship too!
