I love the id--ts that turn the cameras on so you can watch them look at their phone.

Another tip from laid off tech worker, most know this now, or maybe not. If you have a meeting in skype, make sure you close teams and log out of it. Same goes for the other way around. Teams and Skype will fight with each other when both are launched, meeting wise. Next If you are on horizon Wave (VDI) and are forced to use that, but still have your WF laptop with all its apps. Make sure you close Teams and skype on WF laptop before you launch Wave. Having those apps run on Wave and the laptop at the same time can cause all sorts of issues.

TIL that you all are the people that save all your files to your desktop, print your emails, and send everything as an attachment. Working like it's 2003.

Teams may not work, but you got to be in the office.

@cpw+1nzrmSzy. Great advice. Ohh the irony of getting solid tech advice not found in the company from an unfairly displaced ex- employee on a layoff board.

everyday i get the failed restart message when Teams launches at login. the workaround is to quit Teams, browse to your C\Users\Username folder. Find Appdata folder (may have to unhide it in the File Options menu. Open Microsoft\Teams folder and delete all contents and try Teams again. I may have missed part of path but should be obvious.

Apologies for the short story about a Tiny Tim-like product that requires crutches to function.

You must be special. Teams works just fine, start using it, stop using Skype and get with the times.

Teams started working real well for me once I stopped using Skype. For the last six months i haven’t logged into Skype and zero issues. Before that I had similar complaints to others in this thread.

Tell me you've worked here for 10+ years without telling me you've worked here for 10+ years.

Similar situation here. How are they telling you to work around it?

Yeah, compared to Skype, Teams is horribly unreliable. I'm not a fan, at all.

I secretly laugh the day after layoffs occur and there appears to be an increase in system issues. At least complaining about it. Always wonder if someone was able to stick it to WF, the pathetic system couldn’t handle all the HR/system traction or it’s just plain coincidence!

Now there’s a new blurb on teamworks about quantum computing today. So we can’t even get f’ing teams to work and we’re going to pretend like we’re leveraging all of this great next generation quantum computing technology. LOL

It's Microsoft, just reboot and stop complaining.

I miss the pre-skype days when we were using AIMS. Ahh the good ol days. I don't mind teams that much, definitely some things Skype does better like letting you know someone is trying to reach you, but not that bad. will be interesting if they have to postpone the migration give all the recent issue which are probably brought on by the influx of new users.

Still can’t take a screen print when I’m on VDI.
This is a real problem when I’m doing walkthroughs and need to capture evidence.

Skype was Awesome but I do agree Teams has so many issues and works when it wants to work. 😆

Seems counterproductive. If I can’t get into teams, it can’t use its fancy tracking. Oh how the wheels always turn at this place lmao

Skype is/was great. Teams, well it blows, at times. But MS has to make its money so on to new and not-improved apps.
Teams auto-start. Just click on your profile icon and tell it to not start when Windows logs on. It's a weird setting as once you set that, the first thing it tries to do is fool you and auto-logon. Close teams, and manually launch it.
If you can't launch teams, the cache needs to be deleted. You can do this yourself, unless they locked it down, but don't think so. Search google on clearing team's cache. First, go into task manager and make sure it's not launched and running in background, if so, end task. Then follow instructions. Once cache is deleted, reboot, launch teams. It's always best to launch team manually. That way you can wait for windows to fully process, update the thousand items that were installed. Then launch it manually. It's a weird cloud app that should launch last, like 365.
How do I know some of this, well I was in tech, but they decided to can my ar-e for some unknown reason. Maybe move my position to India.

I have heard the move to Teams was because Microsoft has some special employee tracking that comes with it for the bank that Skype didn’t.

Lord knows all it takes is a fancy PDF with some pie charts coupled with sales/executive BFF meetings over dinner and WF is SOLD on the pitch! That’s how India has made their way to 30% of the banks jobs!

Teams is a freaking resource hog, and if you're a remote user it su-ks even more!!! Why have an app try and fail to log in if you're not even connected to the network yet?!

Where do they hire these corporate comms types? TikTok.

Skype - does exactly what is required, clean, light, fast.

Teams - lets put everything under the sun in this tool, put folders/files, calendar, make it eat up a gig of ram, crash non stop.

My computer sounds like a loan mower with all the spying software on my machine, makes it barely usable. The IT people should be fired.

I've heard other companies have moved to this MS product--probably a huge cost savings

Because Wells Fargo is too easily duped by Microsoft (and other tech) sales people.

That's it. Nothing is perfect but Skype is light, clean, and works. Everything you need is in one view, whereas teams needs two or more windows open for some reason.

Teams blows but it's not going anywhere, unfortunately.
