Thread regarding Intel Corp. layoffs

Are you people serious?

This is less and less the company it once was. It's understandable that things change, but Intel has changed a lot for the worse. However, I still don't understand those who say they would like to be laid off. Really? Are you joking?

Log course people want to be laid off. You get a big payout & get to find new work, experience something new, without the need to worry about money.

OP maybe you lack confidence after being at Intel. That’s understandable.

Are you insane?
Why not get laid off?
They gave me nearly one year's salary, and I found a higher paying job in two months.

College didn't teach me how to fill out unemployment claims, stand in line at the food bank, and apply for food stamps. Once I learned, I'm not afraid of CEOs whose only we-pon is to starve you into submission.

No, even if the package weren't good just quitting is bad optics.

Serious, yes. Joking, no. For some, getting laid off w/severance means time to decompress and pursue new opportunities without worrying about money. For others, it means one big last paycheck before retiring.
