Thread regarding Wells Fargo & Co. layoffs

What Next?

Well - now that 8/8 has passed. What is the next date I should scan my email continuously for an email and pray for a package? Congrats to all who got the golden package!

I think we should prioritize laying off employees with special accommodations and particularly those with intermittent fmla - would help save a ton of managers headaches.

“ medical accommodations or LOAs are not a barrier to you being displaced
you can be displaced solely on the basis of location strategy and not being in a designated go-forward location for your LOB. This happened recently in Recruiting/Talent Acquisition”

Thank you for responding. I saw comments saying they pulled the list of remote workers without an accommodation, so I had wondered if there was something with the accommodation that “protected” them from displacements. I’m expecting it to happen to my area because several people have left and they’ve not been backfilled. Wondered what my chances of displacement were considering I’m not at a main hub. Thank you again for the response.

"I’m a remote worker with a medical accommodation that is not at a main hub. Will there be a point that they say regardless of my accommodation that I will be displaced for the simple fact that I’m not at at a main hub?"

@uyf+1o1ZC9N6- maybe HR displacement process has been automated.....so those resources weren't needed

Once they are done with remote people and non-hubbers, they'll really start playing FF games. Reorgs with the express purpose of changing hubs for LOBs, then telling people that if they want to keep their jobs they'd need to move half way across the country. Oh you won't? Good, now we can replace you all with contractors and outsourcing and pay no severances. This kind of madness will not end until the complany closes it's doors or CS is termed.

There will be hiring in hub locations only. Then offshore after that. Churn.

By reading my LinkedIn Hr has been totally decimated by layoffs this week. I guess we know we won’t be doing much hiring as a company.

It’s not just people that aren’t in hubs or remote people without medical accommodations being displaced. There are some that are the opposite being let go. While I was a remote worker, not in a hub, with medical accommodations in tech, others on my team were in hub locations RTO, hybrid, who followed policy, one being a manager that was also let go (spans and layers is being looked at to). None of us received any email for the news. We all were notified when we logged in to work for the day. Out of the blue a call came through teamworks from my 2nd level manager to relay the news and told I had maybe 10 minutes to wrap up before my access was terminated to the network. So that said, no one is really “safe” , sure out of hub and remote might be the majority but not the only that will be given notice. They do plan on keeping some remote people, of course it will be the “the chosen ones, or known ones.” If you haven’t made a “name” or “kissed a few @sset$” be patient, I’m sure you’ll get your package.

What's Next you ask?
Let's see, the list of remote workers without a medical accommodation has been pulled and I would expect it will be the relocate to hub city within 90, 120 180 days or goodbye. Well on our way to the Worst Company in Finance rating.
Just a humble opinion is all.

Every 2 weeks. Now that they axed HR it is going to take longer to offboard displaced employees

This strategy will be in waves between now and the end of 2024. It can't all be done at once due to processes, etc. If you sit in a hub, you may feel more comfortable than those that don't. Just see who was displaced 8/8 and it tells you all you need to know.

😄

I thought it was funny, but this board has no sense of humor. All misery, all the time.

you'll either get an email meeting invite 30 min before mgr calls or a Teams IM asking if you have a minute to talk.
