I have seen the light and am applying to UPS... Great fitness regime, good pay and benefits. No product launch fire drills, no anxiety over who's getting cut next quarter... Just a big brown truck to drive around!

I don’t mind paying more for shipping if the money does indeed go to the workers.

Shipping companies historically operate on razor thin margins. Just out of college I worked in IT at Yellow freight - their profit margin was 1 cent of every dollar. I also worked in IT at ABF freight, same 1 cent of every dollar. Then I worked at Walmart in IT, they had slightly better profit margins but NOTHING like Ford had on SUV and Trucks.
The difference I saw in the companies was Walmart and the freight companies relied heavily on logistics and quality control as they couldn’t afford to re-do work. They also cut employees immediately if they couldn’t do their jobs. Ford on the other hand has loads of unproductive employees and rarely does the job correctly the first time.

Now Walmart has certainly changed since I worked there, as the founder has passed on. And Yellow is no longer a going concern.
I suspect the upcoming UAW strike will be the end of Ford. Stellantis and GM will survive the strike.

Nice try. Joe Biden's energy policies are making US labor uncompetitive. UPS delivers non union made goods. With the EV mandates, the UAW will soon be irrelevant.

A monopoly controlling any part of the economy forces all those NOT in the monopoly to diminish their lifestyle so that members of the monopoly can enhance theirs.

Corporations try to form monopolies, but those are generally illegal or highly regulated. Governments are monopolies and of late appear to be acting against the best interests of their peoples. Labor unions are monopolies.

Everyone IN a monopoly wants everyone else to pay their monopoly prices. But they don’t want to pay the high prices of other people’s monopolies. That’s why you see UAW, SEIU and teachers union members at Walmart buying cartloads of LCC-made gewgaws instead of stuff made at factories staffed by employees in other labor union monopolies. It is human nature. This is the way.
