Thread regarding Cisco Systems Inc. layoffs

AppDynamics GES sales restructured

Announced today to the GES product sales specialist teams— reorganization based on industry vertical. Also one small team per East/West region focused on Premier accounts. No longer are the days of geo-based account coverage. 18 more PSS to be hired in GES, too. All AppD PSS to focus on incremental annual contract value. Big questions linger about how the accounts will be cared and fed in non-sales cycles to ensure that customers implement and get value from AppD. Renewals specialists will be handling renewal (good luck with that— they don’t just show up at renewal time healthy and ready to renew). How the sales engineers are aligned to accounts is still TBA.

I’m only heard second-hand from someone with direct experience with the AppD sales teams - but apparently they are VERY bloated with upper management. The product is another story - seemed good when purchased but it has gone straight to the Left on the Gartner magic quadrant after purchase…not competing well with Datadog/Dynatrace and after those company’s earnings…looking like the whole APM space is struggling.

its appD, one of the worst products ever bought or sold by Cisco, so anyone left supporting that T rud should be lucky and hope they forget they even exist.
