Thread regarding Honeywell International Inc. layoffs

Restoring Honeywell to its former glory.

It is possible given the rich history and brand I believe but it’s a monumental task ahead for VK. The culture where employees are considered as “heads” vs. assets needs to go. Some of the stupidity, like the dreaded 9-block along with a toxic HR group that administers it needs to go. VK needs to listen to those closest to the client and the client themselves - not the bunch of cronies that just tell him what he wants to hear. I have been gone for two years - I can’t believe how the company was negatively impacting my well-being and how great it’s been working for a competitor of HBT that truly values people and doing what’s right for them and our clients - always.

I’m not familiar with the backstory of Intelligrated as my time there started as the acquisition was almost fully complete; but, some of these posts have me researching out of curiosity. I came across this article about the acquisition and found it disheartening to read what the founders’ intentions for the company’s future were (supposedly), but know now that HW seemed to basically do the opposite! quotes from the article: the founder “had a vision of making sure that Intelligrated’s customers succeed and a culture that valued taking care of its people and acting with integrity with its suppliers. “We have the next generation of leadership in place and at some point they’ll be ready to take on this business.” And he noted HW would “keep the leadership structure and processes in place while providing the resources and opportunities to enable the business to grow.”

Man, I loved those 901's. Set up right and some live music cranked up, those were awesome speakers. Most folks didn't have them setup right though. It took some work to make them right, but the end result was just being at a concert. I'm still looking for a set that hasn't been destroyed.

From my observations within Intelligrated of Honeywell's actions, it seems that Honeywell likes to put unreasonable metrics on the existing managers. So since those metrics aren't being met, those existing managers are pushed out and replaced with paper pushers. These paper pushers know more about screaming and filling out reports than the work being done and the methods needed to insure future productivity. Intelligrated is really hurting right now and it is all due to Honeywell's mismanagement and actions.

Everyone likes to refer to upper management as the 'C' suite for CFO, COO, CEO etc. I have often wondered if it also means 'C'atastrophe when referring to the revolving management door at Intelligrated.

There will be nothing left of Intelligrated when HW goes to sell them. IT outsourced, HR outsourced, engineering 50% outsourced to HGR, manufacturing Mexico and technically not part of Intelligrated, accounting outsourced etc ... the rebranding is going to be Intelli-outsourced.

A Moneywell Wave Radio would be the size of a bar fridge.

Look at Bose ouch. Once a marketing megaforce, now against the ropes. The Wave Radio and 901s long gone now after decades of success.

VK is not even trying to restore some former Honeywell glory :D :D
Just take a look at his actions in past. That tells everything.

Not going to happen. Brand name is in very fast decline, at worst Honeywell will be gone within a decade at best survive at diminished scale in one/maybe two industries after the selloffs , sorry, 'possible' selloffs ;)
VK has a small band of time to milk his position to death, that is exactly what he will do.
The asset strip and aggresive cost reductions to prop up quarterlies will continue until the collapse threshold is met which is maybe 3 years time.
