Rumor-mill says calls will go out this Thursday or Friday, 2 weeks notice, off payroll by Sept 01.
Headcount reduced by 20-25%, wireline, cellular and account support will be impacted and some customer base reassigned down channel or to remaining sellers to pick up the quota forcing more alignment with SPs at reduced comp to cover the accounts and the upped quotas.

Thought the same thing! I don’t know of anyone who calls it cellular. Possible troll trying to stir things up again.
Anyone that calls it “cellular” is not trustable. If you don’t mobility, you are unreliable.
Has anyone heard anything more on this possible surplus? I am in GBS Enterprise Mobility, an AM, and scared I might get the call/email.
Do Sales Managers know ahead of time? If so, do they just act like a person is still going to be here by planning for future or are they as clueless as all of us?
I am actively looking for another job outside of AT&T as single mom but sure hate to leave before hitting the 10 year mark. I saw a post that the Enterprise Mobility AM role is going away . Has anyone else heard this?
@vjx+1o5mNbe7 How do notifications work? Calls? Emails? Who makes them…. The sales manager or AVP?
For SLED it was a direct phone call by either your manager-if they weren't being surplussed or the AVP
IHX will be in charge now. The next step is surplus. If sales targets are not fulfilled those in the upper areas will determine the worker’s fate.
I know they used to do a similar thing in Network Operations - however, the surplus that I got hit by, (off payroll July 6th) was nothing more than my boss calling me, running through the required script, then releasing the pdf version from HR to my email.
We had heard rumors that there could be something happening - mostly from seeing chatter on here - but no official communication until it actually happened.
I wish you the very best of luck
Center of Excellence ..lol. If you’ve ever had to deal with them you know that term is an oxymoron.
The Mobility CoE that supports Mid markets or JVB org. Is staying and will grow as they already support every group except Global and Sled/Led. Platinum is not a part of GBS. They currently report into JVB.
The GBS service management CoE was moving to a “pay per use” that a customer would pay for I thought.
Disclaimer: All of this could change as it appears to change weekly
If you are worried about your job being eliminated start looking elsewhere. Do not leave it to chance .
Has anyone heard anything about platinum segment/ Bat and Fiber Team?
Serious inquiries as I am in this org.
How do notifications work? Calls? Emails? Who makes them…. The sales manager or AVP?
In the past they would send out an invite for 3 calls….you’re safe, you may be impacted or you are impacted. Do they still do that?
@gci+1o5mNbe7, what is the bigger elephant in the room, not getting that?
OP's post didn't seem like trolling, in GBS most all my peers have heard these rumblings, and with all the other business units, Public Sector, (SLED, GEM, FN), some Mid-market segments and many other areas of the company having already been impacted by cuts, you had to see that our time was coming, add to this the discussions around what the new comp rules of engagement for SP partnership are shaping up to look like next year, along with the COE going away which really means the all the non-sales service support work will be dumped on the CSEs, which will all but force you to partner with an SP to either help hunt into your module or help you service with the promise to co-sell.
Who are “account support” or is this a troll trying to draw attention away from the bigger elephant in the room?
Plus, they already got rid of my previous Service Manager role and we were account support. What is left?
Is platinum considered global business?
Outsourced workers will be outsourced to individually independent contract outsourees working for The Sorcerer.
SP's will be the new Account managers and Retail Stores will be 100% 3rd party by 2026. Funny when I look to sell in Sales Force I come across a lot of Partner Solutions lately.
This is exactly what the long term plan is.
Can they do that?
