Thread regarding Ford layoffs

So much anxiety after mid year review

I have no idea what to expect.

I like go to sleep every evening not knowing if tomorrow I will get affected or not ( end of August or September apparently).

I would like to keep my position here as long as possible since I have financial responsibilities but the anxiety and tension I have daily is too much to deal with.

Almost seems better to literally do nothing for work and just interview as much as possible rather than to work even on weekends and still possibly get a bad rating in mid year review.

My mental health has been deteriorating every week and I have difficulty sleeping most days.

It’s all intentional. Constant insecurity helps keep us in line. The conventional methods of achieving security are systematically removed (pension, unions, job security). Insecurity leads to employees embracing social hierarchies and domination, which unfortunately increases the appeal of classism, racism and xenophobia.

Sit and reflect, identify the patterns then make a plan to opt out and get away from the Ford circus.

You're not alone.

Best I can suggest is get networking and active on LinkedIn and see what is out there, and the skills they look for. And update the resume. If nothing else, you will feel you have a little more control over your career.

I find people in your situation are anxious because they do not have a plan. For me, it was helpful to write out the possible scenarios and then write an action plan for each. If you focus on your current work and preparing yourself for new job opportunities, you will not have time to worry.

So you are anxiety ridden and having mental health enjoy. But would prefer to stay?!?

That does not compute.

Just use FMLA and ADA and get a year off.
