Thread regarding Wells Fargo & Co. layoffs

Stop the Hub madness

Admit that this was the d-mbest idea ever and stop clumping people together in these mindless hubs. No talent. No good workers. Terrible locations. We need employees all over the US. Not just in these awful locations. We need to bring our talented loyal workers back. Let’s make Wells Fargo great again!!!!

Amen to that. I’m trying to “wait” out this version of executives, and this awful hub idea. It’s absurd. If diversity is truly top of mind, this plan is unsustainable.

It's a statistical certainty that the location strategy will reduce the quality of employees by drastically and unnecessarily limiting the talent pool. As an added bonus, those less than ideal employees will also cost you more money to employ. Sure, everyone is replaceable, and if you throw out 99% of potential candidates for no reason your replacements will be worse than they could have been. It's a failed strategy that the information age will eventually dispense with, Hudson Yards just hasn't realized it yet.

Plenty of remote employers out there, even in the financial section. PayPal, Coinbase, etc. Remote work will come back to the big banks also, it's a matter of time. More efficient competitors and market forces will demand it.

@shn+1o7cvDSu All the OP can offer up is that it’s not THEIR location so clearly it’s a bad choice.

Never mind the fact that none of us Jabrones posting here have all of the information behind why any high level decision is made. It’s all pontification and subsequent outrage at the change. “That’s not right to me so you’re all id--ts and outrage wargarblllllll!!!”

It’s cute that because you’re not in a defined prime location and will be cut that means Wells will be losing someone it can’t survive without. You wear that “I’m Special” button your mom gave you very well.

Anyone complaining about a location strategy is just mad they weren’t grandfathered in. No employer a global anywhere anytime employment location strategy. Get over it already. The strategy seems to be working for exactly as intended for Wells.

OP, agree, but it's a lost cause, both the hub strategy & the Bank.

But if they don't herd us into these buildings first they can't use a building sale or lease ending as an excuse to downsize us.
