Thread regarding Wells Fargo & Co. layoffs

Things I will miss when I leave Wells Fargo:

  • Using my WhatsApp to conduct Wells Fargo business
  • My official work pants
  • The yes-men who are voluntarily working in the office 4 days per week .I.
  • Oh Yea.. my boss wants to start having staff meetings first-thing every Monday morning “to get us going for the week”.
  • Wells Fargo’s warm-hearted lucite cubes for my Years of Dedicated Service (so cherished that people are trying to sell them on eBay)
  • The cleaning lady blocking the bathroom the one time I can get away to p-e
  • Some WFC bean counter taking away all the office wall clocks “to save on batteries”.
  • 31 online Compliance classes, all of which are 100% irrelevant to my job. (I’m fairly confident that my office job will never present a scenario where I will face conflict over whether I can or can not give anything of value, directly or indirectly to a foreign dignitary)
  • Signing my rights away with that Annual Attestation form.
  • If only I could attend just one more Townhall…
  • That important work email everyone deleted because they thought it was a fake phishing exercise
  • Some good soul cleaning out the work fridge, and then the highest-paid people complain because their 10 year old moldy Tupperware container got thrown away.
  • Motivating grown adults with fake gold virtual coins for completing Rally classes
  • Wells trying to improve their DE&I stats by hiring new employees with as many diverse elements in one human as possible: our LOB just hired a short pregnant hearing-impaired elderly Scottish woman. (jk)
  • I will miss the hysterical meetings with stuffy old WFC execs trying to clarify the difference between mari--ana stocks and hemp stocks.
  • I’m hoping HR will reclassify my job title one more time before I go
  • Let me get this straight: 1. you laid off 30% of the department 2. we have to get all the work done perfectly 3. we can not work OT
  • Due to my generous pay at Wells Fargo, I have accumulated enough money to retire at 50 (Of course I will have to go back to work at 53….)
  • Changing my 4 passwords every 3 months, writing them down and hiding them and then forgetting where I put them.
  • Do the managers, here, not have spell-check?
  • HR’s 3 minute phone tree, no options apply to my question
  • The Helpless Desk
  • Our cafeteria now looking like a United Nations meeting
  • Don’t you wonder if they ever clean out the insides of those ice machines?
  • Meets is the new Exceeds
  • The “confidential” EthicsLine. Sure.

Q. What’s the best way to make a small fortune in Wells Fargo stock?
A. Start off with a big one.😂

Fired in March along with the other tenured people for various reasons. Dept lay offs in August so you miss your 20 years of severance.

I won’t miss people referring to co-workers as their “Wells Fargo family.” Really fake. It went on for years. These people are not my family nor would I ever want them to be.

  • Lazy, unqualified, snarky, egotistical, demeaning middle managers with no BANKING EXPERIENCE, most likely hired by friends. You worked at Lowes as a Junior PM? Here, go be a middle manager of a Risk and Regulatory team in Corporate Model Risk. What could go wrong.

I got fired because my manager didn't like me. Best thing that ever happened to me! My stress level went down immensely folks. I found another bank job immediately and get paid more! So sorry for those stuck. I know the feeling. Don't give up and move on if you can!

  1. The tech and access people that tell us they'll get to our request in '3-5 business days' when we need it NOW and there's no way to escalate.
  1. The people that review and assign job postings that take over a month to get it done even during a hiring freeze.
  1. RTO defenders.
  1. Anyone that ever said "the firm", and didn't mean the book/movie.
  1. Anyone that ever announced a change negatively impacting employees with the first justification being "to align with our competitors / industry norms..."
  1. The worthless two faced POSs in CPG that routinely brag to the execs about shutting down buildings and getting people termed, while feeding their victims lies about why it's all happening.
  1. All the employees in Hudson Yards.
  1. The guy that decided biweekly paydays was better than bimonthly.
  1. The corporate liars that say they'd love to retain people they are downsizing, while also doing everything possible to ensure that those poor people have no chance of actually being selected for any job.
  1. Whoever came up with "Better Together" as a smoke screen while firing our friends and shipping jobs 10,000 miles away.

Don’t forget the 15 digit password that you inevitably mistype 3 times as your curse your very existence. I’ve resorted to never locking my computer because I can’t stand having to retype it multiple times because of my 3 minute bathroom break. Seems like effective risk management - make people want to never lock their computers…

The annual survey that is mandatory to take. And the results are either a) not shared b) used as a stick against your department or c) bad but leadership claims they are great

The constant calls from Express Scripts telling me all the money I can save by having them mail me my prescriptions. And me telling them each and every time that I'm not interested. One guy even insisted on telling me what I would save - it was around $2. Sorry not interested in not getting my meds on time to save $2.

Happy Birthday Holly! And the all the people who have not yet learned to not choose "reply all" when they want to say, "take me off this list."

"one must write them down to remember them if you don't use a password app. And dollars to doughnuts password apps are against policy!"

For many years now Password Safe is the approved password repository app at Wells Fargo.

Me? I will miss the inconsistencies between entering my employee information on various Wells Fargo platforms and then having to guess why it is rejecting. (And some will auto-correct to proper format for me, others will not)

My phone number on
Platform A: (111) 111-1111
Platform B: 111- 111- 1111
Platform C: 111 111-1111
Platform D: 111 111 1111
Platform E: 1111111111

Now your name - Aggh 😩!!

"You haven't seen the new password requirement...you can't have any words in them."

Is this for real? Because if so it will have gotten so far one must write them down to remember them if you don't use a password app. And dollars to doughnuts password apps are against policy!

Endless Lifecare "benefits" emails that offer "deals" that you could easily get in the open market (usually you can get much bettercdeals elsewhere)....and all their endless, common sense drivel about mental health and life improvements when WF is doing everything to destroy employees' psyches.

Also WF's precious quarter point loan discount on mortgage for employees, when their rates are nowhere near competitive.

VDI nightmare (enough said).

Employees looking forward to fire drills to break up their monotonous day.
