The layoffs (beatings) will continue until morale improves

Noone actually knows anything until it happens and why does it even matter. Noone that has been around 20 or more years is going to leave before it happens. In fact the ones with 40 plus years wont leave until office closures or mandated force to move to another city happens. They are old and greedy wanting the max severance. These stupid people are working for free by not leaving last December they lost 100s of 1000s of dollars.

For CWA, it couldn't be Sept. 15th because the date is usually a Thursday for the announcement. Is it Sept. 14th or will it be Sept. 21st? In any case, those of us that would love to be surplussed will not be lucky enough to get any such deal.

I wonder what percentage of the company actively wishes to be surplussed.

September 15th is next surplus announcement date per CWA/T contract and many of us hope to be declared surplus so we can get the sweet termination package. Anyone who says this won't happen is wrong. It happens every 3 months and workers retire with up to 2 years pay. If you apply any common sense about management's criteria, you've already made a mistake because management uses no reasonable logic. One org, for example, gets rid of workers who eagerly take the VTP and those workers are off that org's payroll, hence budget, 30 days later. The payouts are paid from another bucket of money. It's just like how the org dosen't pay for retirement benefits. The org only cares about the org so this is the org's incentive to easily reduce headcount. And so many of us hope to get it September 15th.

Layoffs will continue with predictable consistency until the target headcount , 75K is reached .

The next layoff will not impact ABFS one bit! Seems to me there are an awful lot of employees in that org that are willing to jump ship providing they're given an opportunity to leave with dignity! If T wants to clean house, it can start there because there is a lot of dead wood in that organization! It has a lot of old timers that all have 35 years plus of service! T, open your eyes!
