In Europe (U.K. and Ireland) the Governments have the Bank by the b@lls. The living is easy, the vacations are extensive, the labor laws are draconian towards the Bank and very few employees work beyond the minimum

This is why we’re moving more and more towards Poland and India.

No need as people are leaving voluntarily. The place has gone to the dogs. There are lots opportunities in companies without stupid unflexible return to office policies.

Who says no layoffs?
In Europe you can't march people out the door. People are given an opportunity to find another role within the bank and if they don't they work their notice period which is usually 2 months.

We also have some regulatory issues in Ireland and would be difficult to let people go while we have these issues. And as mentioned below, lowest tax rate in the world which is why there are so many funds in Ireland (not just ours I mean)

I can think of a few in Ireland who should be shown the door. I’d start with the woman who runs “client service”.

Ireland (and all of Europe) has FAR more protections for employees than we do in the US when it comes to redundancies. I’m sure that Ireland isn’t safe, but legal, HR and the EC are figuring out how to do it to not raise red flags to the markets or not have to pay out any more severance than they absolutely have to. They’re probably still trying to figure out how to best sc--w them over while still costing them the least money. Layoffs are meant to happen over coming months, they’re not done ruining lives.
