If you have a reasonable accommodation due to a disability under ADA (in the US), the company can't discriminate against you. Unfortunately, with reductions in force (layoffs), especially if they target multiple remote positions across the company, proving discrimination took place could be tough. Unless, say, you were the only person on your team who was laid off or something.

It would be prudent to consult an attorney specializing in employment/disability law. Many attorneys will provide an initial consultation at no charge and help you understand your rights.

If that’s the target, why do they continue to hire based at home employees?

Does approved accommodation fall under this?

I worked at BNY Mellon for 7 years and only saw a handful of promotions across investment management. I don’t even remember what month they were officially announced or took effect. How long is the delay in getting any raise related to a promotion? Just curious.

Thinking of those affected by layoffs.

How can the ppl in Oriskany NOT see the writing on the wall. Why prolong the agony? The people mean so much to the company, what a bunch of BS!
KARMA will come back to all of them that thought it was great to lead these ppl on "we appreciate you, you're doing great work, we want to include you in blah blah blah " stick it ....

@qzv

This has always been true that that you don’t get the raise with the promotion. You get it the next year.

Unfortunately these growth centers, so they claim, do not have decent staff. The staff is underpaid and will jump ship to competitors (which has already been done). True talent no longer exists anymore as they have been taken advantage of and realized this company works against true talent.

Even if you got a promotion they recently changed policy so they won’t pay you the promotion til next year. So you could do the extra responsibilities for months beforehand … and be laid off before you ever see that $.

I heard that if you are not working at one of their "growth" centers like Lake Mary, there will be no promotions. Not that they were giving them out anyway. Mostly they just keep creating new "chief" positions.

Since a lot of BAH are MDs themselves, I’ll believe it when I see it.
