Thread regarding Citigroup Inc. / Citibank / Citi layoffs

What departments have had layoffs since Jane's announcement a few days ago?

If you or someone on your team has been laid off, what dept are you in??

weak speech mostly talking with hands as usual yesterday fraser makes out like a bandit, getting 350 times more than the average NYC household, make cuts to justify her poor performance since 2021. Enjoy the Fifedom, ants.

They will never tell you where or when they will cut. They don't want to start a frenzy. You come in and it's business as usual until your number is called. Highly stressful. No one should feel untouchable.

Do you really expect her to say X-X people in dept A, X-X in dept B, 20% of dept C, all of dept D will be laid off next thursday? Seriously, that would just be stupid. Businesses want you to give 100% until the last second that they have to tell you

Whoever started this post, this was a good one. So far not 1 person has come forward to reveal their department has had a layoff since the announcement

Jane's meeting was vague. When pressed on how many will be impacted, she dodged it by saying that she changed the structure and the employees will follow...and that it will be fast! I don't know about you, but 6 months of nail-biting doesn't seem "fast" to me. All about the shareholder and stock price, could have had more empathy about those who will lose their jobs.

More layoffs are coming.
So far I know Fraud and AML had layoffs when they merged.
I can only hope they layoff people in India. Their low dollar wages are a problem for us in the US.

Based on the invite it sounds like the bulk of the meeting will be Jane answering questions from Slido. I expect very little of the actual plan will be revealed because why be transparent when you can feign empathy?

Do you think we will actually hear more info during the morning meeting? I hope it won't be some of the same stuff we heard in the message last week and in the news. We need more info than tidbits here and there.

This is the only way any of us will know what is actually going on. All management is radio silent other than having pointless zooms to say they don't know anything, which at some point as you get higher up in the org, is a lie.

It is not a secret, however, I think a lot of people keep saying this site is watched and nothing wrong with being careful. If you have looked at other posts, people are hesitant to name their department/teams.

If there has been a recent layoff in a given department, what is the problem with saying so? Why should it be a secret?

Investment banking was a previously impacted area and that should be common knowledge. Read the communications again. It will give you come clues to impacted areas. I'm sure most are not comfortable sharing and maybe some don't care at this point.

Hmm. This kind of seems like a fishy question. I suggest erroring on the side of caution before answering. It's a shame we have to think this way but who knows whose trolling this site.
