Thread regarding Ford layoffs

UAW strike enters Day 3: layoffs; talks ongoing

The companies are saying this is a ripple effect. The plants that are on strike assemble cars, but they also make components for some of these other plants. So for example, the Ford workers, who are on strike in Michigan, well, some of them are responsible for coating materials that then go on to workers in a different part of that plant who are not on strike. And Ford's saying that those workers can't do their jobs without the coating process, so Ford has already told 600 people not to report to work.

Michael Amend - $12.8M

Who is this guy? Never heard of him. Has he done anything to warrant that kind of pay?

The president of the US doesn't make that either, 400K a year. Where the he-l is the logic in all this with the OEMs management team and the BODs!

The executive team reminds me of the herd of deer I encountered when coming around the bend taking Hines Drive home, just standing there and not knowing what to do. Not even a flinch, I had to lay on my ho-n and they still just stood there – Duh.

Our ship of overpaid executive multimillion dollar salary staff never anticipated the targeted strike, really. Wonder what list of classes they need to have on their goals for such a miscalculation, a below-target on their quarterly evaluation for certain! We’re only talking the UAW here, not all the outsourcing, failed planning, quality mishaps, EV production quantity miscalculations and overall dismal employee moral brought on by these overpriced suites.

Here is a reminder of just what a few of these ivy-leaguers are making, just the five of them at nearly $100 million, almost enough to make a dent in the national debt. For certain awash in any path forward with such a miss on these negotiations. I give tremendous kudos to the UAW negotiator, we need this at the white collar level, just too bad 50%+ of our jobs have already moved overseas.

William Clay Ford - $18.6M
James Farley – $22.8M
John Lawler - $8.2
Michael Amend - $12.8M
Doug Field - $10.9M
