The OP is trolling. Ford is a big company. There can be layoffs in some part on any day unfortunately. Transparency is needed by management and it has not been given, hence why trust is gone and there is a lor of uncertainty and fear. This troll is capitalizing on that.
For years a USB exception was required to have USB access (since feb 2020 I believe).
It goes to supervisor, maybe manager.
It’s best once a year to request this during a time where ‘things are quiet’, ahem.
Transfer anything you need, of a personal nature. Assume they know everything you copy.
Best bet is not to have any personal files on work pc.

When it happens, it happens, so stop worrying about it! If you think you will get a pink slip, start preparing now. Crying about it is not going to change anything. Creating dates for layoffs is for your satisfaction, not those trying to get their 30 years in so they can retire.
I was separated on August 22, 2022. My laptop crawled the last couple of weeks prior to that. Hitting Add Attachment on email would take 20-30 seconds before it let me pick a file.

If your could move files to thumb drives but can no longer do it you might be on the chopping block. Also look at your installed files and see if any cyber software has been recently installed. Last year my laptop started acting funny and multiple functions were gone.

Many departments were hit hard in June. I can't imagine they would do additional cuts to these areas so soon.
