Thread regarding Ford layoffs

LL6s here are useless

Mine literally doesn’t do any work and keeps pretending to try to be helpful.

LL6 is very good at parroting what the LL5 says and telling the LL5 what they want to hear. If not, they are eliminated in short order.

In my dept, there are at least 3 LL6s that have no business being an LL6 in engineering. Not even close. While they cannot understand or fix current model issues, I cringe that these people are in charge of new programs.

If you want to buy a Ford, might be smart to buy now a current product, rather than one of these products 4 years from now.

Serious question, What should a good LL6 be according to you?

The LL6s I have dealt within PD are decent and competent. It's the LL5s that have zero value

I believe many LL6s are decent when promoted into a position for which they have the skills. The problem is that Ford sees individuals in leadership as interchangeable cogs and people get moved frequently into jobs they don’t know how to do. After the moves there is no training or support resulting in leaders who are in over their heads without a life jacket. In addition LLs are given so many special assignments that they end up with little time to function as a leader or learn new skills. After being moved a few times the skills that earned the initial promotion become rusty and few new skills are learned resulting in leaders who appear useless.

Yes, my current LL6 doesn't add much value but I know several who are very good.

Most LL6 are useless. They don't do much and they do not have the technical knowledge to help their employees. They BS all the time pretending like they know it all.

Ford LL levels are setup for failure.
