Thread regarding Wells Fargo & Co. layoffs

Get rid of hubs

Grouping people together like cattle is not working. This whole hub mentality is the d-mbest decision.

If you're not in the office, it's difficult for management to "su-k up/kick down"

There are no benefits. It's simply a PR exercise / excuse. The execs don't care where you are located. These clowns have people in I&P infiltrating almost every team in the company. If a guy on your team can be in India, "Better Together" is clearly a pack of lies and nothing more.

Can someone please explain the benefits of location strategy to me? Preferably, please be over 60 and employed with WF over 30 years, since that is what you all seem to have in common with RTO. I'll wait. Thanks!

@axf what makes you think they aren't trying to?

Don't think you're safe from the axe by being in a hub location. See: yesterday.

There's nothing less relevant in the information age than location. Certain legacy tasks require specific physical location, sure, but more than half the domestic workforce doesn't need a building to sit in or WF pc hardware to use, so why are we spending billions and billions of dollars on it? We don't get any relevant portion of that back on tax breaks. It's a drop in the bucket by comparison.

The entire purpose of hubs and RTO is, quite obviously, to terminate as many domestic workers as possible for the lowest possible price. That's it folks. And once people are herded into the few remaining hubs, they'll close them one by one as well.

But then they lose tax money by leaving other cities poking holes in your tax conspiracy theory.

RTO brings money into the cities and in return Wells gets tax breaks within the city. It's called I scratch your back if you scratch my back.

It’s all about cost savings and attrition. You are a number.

Because no job ever makes people go in to a location much less the same location.

It’s for tax breaks. It’s how Charlie gets paid. Cost savings equal executive compensation. It’s why CEOs make 400 times more than their lowest paid worker and the rest of us have to sit in a useless office like we’re furniture for 3 days a week. BTW, saying “If you don’t like it leave” is stupid. All corporations are structured like this. It’s why the autoworkers, screen actors, and writers unions are striking. Viva la revolution.🤡
