I've said it before on here and want to reiterate. Verizon is selling off areas in PA. I do not know about other states. This comment will be downvoted by the management on here because they are being told to keep things calm and not to raise a flag and run the risk of this falling through because of loose lips. Lower level managers are currently being prepped on the transition. There will be no layoffs but there will be a mass hiring. There will be no EISP.

Ask your union rep and boss about it. Make them lie to your face. They are well versed in the act and wont have any problem doing it.
lol this guy making up these rumors must feel real good about himself, scaring everyone. What a total clown.
i dont believe it
Garages in areas codes that have Fios but the garage itself does not support Fios if they are within 35 miles the will shut the garage down an move them to an area code that does. Example a garage in 717 will be shut down and consolidated with a garage in a neighboring area code as long as it is with the 35 miles if the garage does not support Fios.
The last time in Pa it was by area code. The PUC said that they could not sell off certain areas within 717 and keep Harrisburg. That is why it was nixed. Verizon did not want to sell off Fios.
I have been told by management many times they have to sell the whole state. All areas that vz owns. They tried to sell fgte years ago and it was shut down.

who is buying parts of verizon? what company?
The Union higher ups are aware and in agreement because new hires equals new payment of dues. I am not sure if local reps have been told yet or not. The Union is a business and they operate like a business. This has been in the works for a long while now. The ball is starting to roll. You can only trust yourself. Any information from the company is in their best interest.
Verizon has reached out to trade schools in Pennsylvania telling them that they are looking for candidates and their will be openings for OPTs, Spicers, Installers.
@uft+1oHozWd5 There will be no layoffs of management or associates. Management will have the option of staying with the new company. There will be a mass hiring because the new company is going to be bidding(winning) on the rural broadband contracts.
What do you mean no lay off and mass hiring?
Annnnd like clockwork here come the ton of new postings to try and bury this posting. Its real folks.
