Thread regarding Intel Corp. layoffs

It all about your rule in Intel.

Despite there are all different rules in Intel, they are valued all as same, not even close...
If you are do foundry works you are good with Intel, they always value this field as they think its their GOD of success. HW engineering is also not bad here, they carries their "good traditions". Working in SW does not value much here, they constantly shift these works to low cost areas. When cost controls applied, they are usually preferred to be the targets, same as non-engineering rules. Thinking about your career path before you make the move.

This isn’t true for all SW. The developer tools team has been very stable with almost no layoffs for decades.

Why thinking about intl if you are a sw guy? There are many other sw companies.

There used to be a saying “closer to the wafer is safer”. But now, it’s hard to say.
