Get Ready Ford Salary workforce

As soon as contract is settled the plan will be cut Americans and send their jobs to LLC. So long West Dearborn you will be a ghost town next year.

No offense to the UAW just the facts.

Anyone seen any 15 min private meetings with LL5+ scheduled yet for tomorrow or later this week? Rumors on cuts were very strong for this week, regardless of what trolls here say.

Why is anyone afraid anymore? This has been the norm since 2017. When your number is up, it’s up. I don’t hope for anything anymore. What the UAW does not realize is the going concern of Ford relies on affordable products that people desire to buy. Both sides of the negotiation table are wrong here and we as salaried are stuck in the middle. Jim Farley and the rest of the C suite will justify their 7-8 figure compensation because they get to determine their own value and have a team of people to make them look polished for the BoD. Shawn Fain and the UAW want to raise the pay of an unskilled line worker to more than a college educated engineer with <5 years experience. Who has to pay for it are the salaried employees who did nothing wrong. Get good grades in school, go to college, and you will have the best shot; so we were told… And because we chose to live by the rules we will die by the rules. All we can do is watch. When this whole thing comes crashing down we in the middle will land on our feet. Do not extend your hand to pull up those that caused this mess (whether it be a greedy C suite or some self entitled UAW who thinks they should get college educated pay for an unskilled job). It will all work itself out, order will be restored.

I’m in PD and ask my friend in finance how much should we be worried. He basically said that the downsizing in June was in anticipation of a 15-18% settlement with the union, a partial COLA and tier reduction. Now, he said there is no straight formula as they have to consider the whole cost of the contract bundle and some will be offset with non US manufacturing. But he said for every 5% over 18%, we are looking at a 2% reduction in PD spend. He said not to expect anything this week, but before EOY. Short term we are battling Stellantis on the quarter, so UAW hitting them harder is good. But long term we are trying to reach Tesla costs, he said that will be really hard, it’s so expensive to catch up.

A lot of emergency meetings going on today and next week with LL+ and above.
JF will need to find an offset for the UAW settlement. Also third quarter ends next week.. So do not be surprised NA Salaried gets hit..

I am hearing it will be brutal this time. Lot of model e cuts are expected because of huge losses in this area and the reduced demand for EVs.

I am a top achiever at Ford but hoping to be cut with a package. I am planning to change the industry completely. There are plenty of good options even if the market is slow.

They should give an offer like they did back in the late 90s, which was 2 years on your tenure and 1 year salary.
