Thread regarding Ford layoffs

Why is UAW soft on Ford?

All three companies offered the same increase of 20% in wages, so how is Ford any different from the rest.

I've heard why the uaw is favorable to Ford is because Ford has promised better deal to the union which will be funded in part by continued salaried cuts. Look at the timing of all this. Last week of September for cuts and Ford is not hit with strike targets.

They in kohoots…another chip shortage to decrease supply to keeep up prices. They up the pressure till they “both achieve agreed deal”. Deal was prob 80% locked in b4 “strike”.

Careful! What you see on the surface is not what is happening. This is all smoke and mirrors. This is political as much as it is about the UAW. BF and the UAW both supported the President getting in office. Now he is in a pickle. His push for EV requires Ford to outsource everything to bypass the union to be competitive. That being said, the president is working out of both sides of his mouth. Publicly he is supporting the UAW. Behind the scenes he is telling BF and JF to give the UAW what they want and he will subsidize Ford to keep them afloat. Bf and JF then have to hope the zombie gets back in office. Our tax money will keep us afloat which is just wring. The grandma has to go and ICE and EVs need to be a choice.

Ford moved big on COLA and tiers. The union knows they won’t get 32hr work week, so now it’s just trying to squeeze for maximum wage. Its still a big gap though as Fain will have a though sell on anything not starting with a 3 or a 4. Ford probably wants to cap in mid 20s

Fain explained it on Facebook Friday. Showed how Ford has improved their offer.
UAW is striking Ford anyway. How is that 'soft'?
