Thread regarding Ford layoffs

Ford looses $32,000 for each EV sold

Wow. At this rate, the company will be in bankruptcy soon. Ford is burning through cash from trying to build EVs that people don't want to buy.

If you build good quality products, then people will buy them. Ford needs to learn from the Japanese and Koreans and Tesla.

Put safety and quality first. Ford try to mass produce and hope that people will buy. Many of us working for Ford and we don't even buy a Ford. That should tells you something about the company products.

to @qqe+1oLuGbCI point:

Yes, the physics of extracting 7000% more earth materials out of the ground is not possible to make more batteries in a decade or two - unless the West (i.e. US of A takes over most of the world and imports all the mined material from the rest of world to the US of A. If that was done then it would be a situation of 'close enough'.

That is why we see endless war and trying to topple Russia and China, our two biggest competitors - so US of A can control these materials to achieve the goal, the rest of thw world be darned.

Want to make money? MAKE. BETTER. VEHICLES. Just make an excellent product that people want to buy. Stop chasing every fad - big data, micro transactions, subscriptions and most of all, BEVs.

Move all of that talent you moved to BEVs back to where Ford actually makes money.

This comment is either sarcasm or out right stupidity

“This financial challenge with BEV is only temporary and not to be too concerned with. Ford leadership has stated when the BEV volumes signifocantly increase many fold with our next-gen Model e mobility products, we will be in the profitability zone. Be patient, the next great era of Ford is upon us.”

Not to pile on, but hey did you know - EV's require 20x the mining effort to acquire the battery minerals like nickle, lithium or cobalt in increasingly diluted ores. That's done with big diesel trucks and rock crushers connected to somebodies electric grid. LOL, so the number of cars and trucks produced will be much less. Anyhow nobody wants to hear it.

If EV is the mandated direction, we had better get to understanding the future is something like a Renault Twizy that the common person can afford. Major trips will be planned around a bus schedule. Oh yeah, let's strike to set our selves up to be the highest cost labor market.

Even if I don't have a choice but to buy EV in the future why would I buy Ford. No chance.
Let the company go bankrupt without being able to sell EVs. Higher the EV volume closer the bankruptcy because more junk will be produced. Junk at lower cost is still junk. Don't waste your money. Don't buy out of sympathy or loyalty and keep driving a junk.

All this to fix global warming when cars are responsible for 8% of carbon emissions. There has to be another reason, don't ya think? Yeah, those batteries don't require coal and gas fired plants to power the refineries, dig the stuff up and concentrate it into a nice little package you can never get wet. Rudderless energy policy. I suppose this is one way to make us all buy mopeds and bicycles.

Ford is getting paid by our tax dollars, not the government. That is not capitalism.

Ford will not go bankrupt, they are getting paid from the government to keep making EVs.
