Work that would take a week to get done by 1 person takes 6 weeks by 4 people.
I’ve never seen such an inefficient group of people
Seems like the trick here is to do as little as possible, talk big game and distance yourself from failing projects

Hey. Milk the company while you still can. You are just a number at Ford.
If you do nothing you can't make mistakes. Mistakes get punished here miss than doing nothing does.
But this is why I'm also against a salaried union. These do nothings should be compensated accordingly and not protected.
Nothing new @ Ford, been going on since at least 2000, likely much longer.
I hired into an IT group under project Renaissance. Management was looking for experienced employees as their current employees were struggling to complete projects.
One quickly saw the gamesmanship. There was a series of “policies” and “procedures” and “fake work” created by the existing team to turn away requests for work from other IT teams and business customers. Oh we can’t do XYZ because it’s against policy / too busy etc. The existing team immediately set out to sabotage the new team members work and block any attempts to complete work. They filed fake reports with HR and GAO against new team members. All of these games was turf protection and covering up for their incompetence.
As you can imagine half of the new team members quit/transferred rather quickly. The more stubborn set about collaborating and quietly automating all the teams work. When the loafers realized what had happened ( they were not needed), they banned together to conduct whisper campaigns to get all the competent newbies on 2008 layoff list. Once disposed of they turned off all the automation and life returned to 2000 standards.
And it remains today with an even larger group of loafers. Sure a few bright flames have come into the group since then but they are snuffed out in similar fashion.
@OP you are not the first to notice. To survive at Ford you have to play the Ford games or you will be voted off the island. The same leaders who claim they brought you in to fix the productivity/competence problems will believe the lies the loafers tell and sign your layoff papers. It is a sick sick culture.
Those damn bloomers kept their jobs for many years while you’ll get can in no time
Union mentality.
Said the same thing earlier. Damn boomers taking 3 weeks to make a power point to present to their LL4 who forgot to sign into the work the past week.
