I think job market is horrendous right now. High interest rate environment is reducing new roles and also causing lay offs. Many job seekers for too few positions.
I am stuck between a rock and a hard place.
Cannot resign without getting a new job and not able to get a new job.

As of today, the highest money market rate is 5.08% compared to a national average rate of 0.54%.
1970s were 20% interest rates. That my friend is a high interest rate. We just got a mortgage for 3.625%. We were partying like we won the lottery.
You might have to make adjustments (relocate, switch industries, make a lateral move) to find a new role.
