JD is a self professed tech company CEO, whereas we need someone who has come up through the ranks, whose heart beats to Nike, to innovation, and who has a ki-ler attitude towards crushing our competition, everywhere and all the time. And makes decisions with some degree of urgency.
I don’t think JD is a bad person and I think he should be respected on the way out. And I think that is the messaging to the public - he came in to a difficult situation and “successfully” accomplished what he was asked.
Was he successful? Being a “tech CEO” and seeing where GT is today, I would say no. AC was a supply chain guy who took the fall for GT, but given tech is JD’s realm, the ultimate responsibility relies with him, especially as CEO.
I wish him well but I’ve had enough of our peacock who thinks he’s a football coach.
