Thread regarding Fidelity Investments layoffs

Transitional Pains

Anyone else still feeling daily stress due to the following?

  • fall out from 2 VBOs that were a brain drain and SME drain on business logic knowledge
  • migration to Agile leading to non qualified people taking on leadership roles as well as squads being moved into different business domains
  • huge influx of new employees some of which have no experience since they are recent college graduates and majority do not have familiarity with finance.
  • migration from old IBM based system to an AWS based on (huge effort)
  • old timers left to support old system, migrate to new system, mentor new hires and deal with poor leadership

Struggling daily to keep my sanity.

Poor Leadership! No one manages, because the hard and uncomfortable conversations DON’T HAPPEN!

Attempts to enact diversity at Fido is creating a sh1tshow. Yes, we can all see through the fact that you're being promoted into a role that you're not qualified for and we're thinking about it every time we look at you.

I just discussed here with the landlords and they will be very welcomed as my neighbours.
And RK can come and visit here as well but the association have to reimburse the ticket. Okay?

I understood the first hint some time ago, you don't need to explain more. I just don't care.
Keep digging the woodpecker wallet. ;D

I wasn't sure if I should comment this, especially with folks turning things around and making them about race. And man, some of these "white man" fake comments here? Seriously? But, as someone who feels like a bit of an outsider at Fidelity, I've got a few things to say.
I've noticed that my kind of "different" isn't the one getting the titles in big corporations.
Where I'm from everyone has a fancy surname or we don't have that look that fits into the popular diversity mold that you are selling here. Honestly never saw my diversity into any high-level roles.
The "diversity" being pushed at Fidelity?
It feels like it's backed by some big players with connections everywhere. It's like when your abuela warns you about the friend who knows too many people and gets into everyone's business.
There's this vibe that if someone's checking the books, and they're pals with the ones being checked, can we really trust the results? It's like having your cousin audit your own business, you know?
Just to be clear, I'm not saying diversity is bad. Nah, it's just that sometimes it feels like the big shots and their checkers are playing for the same team. And that? That's a whole different problem.

The worst Fidelity employees I’ve seen are mediocre whites. They combine incompetence with a sense of entitlement. As a minority here, I can say Fidelity is not at all inclusive and I regret starting my career here. I see a lot of insecure not very intelligent whites. I do the work the of five people and still get underpaid. Can’t wait to quit after bonus.

Minority hiring is a leading factor for daily problems.

I used to be all for minority and historically marginalized people. Now, sigh, not sure. A lot of low seniority people getting into positions of authority who have poor decision making qualities.

Sounds like some slackers blaming everyone/everything but failing to look in the mirror. "Produce 200% daily"? Well golly I produce 400% daily so you must be a real slacker

I saw no blame in original post, just poor leadership decisions that place newcomers in a difficult position which lead to additional issues down the road.
Can’t blame people for applying for leadership positions that they are not qualified for, but those approving the unqualified applicants should be held accountable.
With regards to the other items mentioned, just indicates poor leadership at higher levels.
Don’t negate or blame the victims or those that raise concerns that need to be addressed.

Ahh, looks like some replies from the new unqualified cheerleaders.
Trust me, it’s us keeping things running and we are definitely qualified and produce 200% daily.

Everyone should stop blaming what they think at everyone else’s shortcomings. Everyone is always blaming new people, younger people, VBOs, etc. you can make a difference and do a good job. Can’t control other factors.
Everyone is always making similar posts or comments, but how good are the people complaining then?
