Thread regarding Ford layoffs

I am just done

This place is horrible; people back stab one another, no one wants to work together and collaborate. I have literally learned nothing since getting a job here; I am just biding my time and staying as long as I can.

Im going to have to prepare to BS hard in job interviews

Everyone keeps saying that there are no jobs out there or that the market is bad. Maybe look for a new job outside of the SE Michigan area?

Why is you goal to "stay as long as you can"? If Ford is not for you, your goal should be to find another job.

The issue is this generation that expects handouts for doing little to no work. Lazy and entitled expecting the other generations to carry them and support them. It’s insane. Instead of working you just walk around and chit chat about anything else.

Yes I’m referring to you boomers. The most entitled and self righteous generation that fell a-s backwards into everything they have

I am happy to see that people finally realize how toxic and depressing working at Ford. That's why I left.

Changing groups is a roll the dice. I had over the years two supervisors that tried to stop my transfer to a new group. Lucky for me the new supervisor each time played stupid and said sorry, paperwork has already been filed for the transfer. The backstabbing is business as usual. Been that way for years. No one helps anyone else. My last 2 years there they threw me (reorg) into a group and job I had no business going to. No experience in that job. No one help trained me, no documentation to read over, nothing. Learn on the job. Ford is doing that to people there now hoping they will quit. I know at least a handful of other people they did this to. They purposely put you in an area they know you should hate.

I left Ford for a job as an wiring DnR and got into a different field of engineering. The only thing is that, I had to make a deal. Harder work that at Ford and less pay, in exchange for getting hired with no experience. I went from a Wiring DnR and endless meetings to programming autonomous vehicles and no meetings. These new vehicles don't even have a steering wheel.

This is something Ford was unable to do.

I will have a brand new resume.

You have go to other companies with "Let's make a deal" thinking.

OP: Which department do you work in?

I have found it all depends on the manager you work for. Try moving to a different group if possible.
