Thread regarding Verizon Communications Inc. layoffs

Pennsylvania

Any updates on Pennsylvania being sold? Lots of cosmetic improvements being made to buildings.

"why would they sell PA only"

Maybe because Brightspeed already bought a large chunk of the State?
Since Brightspeed is run by Ex Verizon exec's, it a fair guess they know VZ's PA plant.
Maybe they've been promised Gov cash for expansion from the crypt keeper Bidumb?

  • We got building upgrade after false fire alarm fines. The repair budget was spent on leather sofas and big screen TV no one uses. The tool to bring production to warehouse from one floor to another has need broke and not fixed. Other defective job tools require re-work doing the same repeated 4x or greater because there is NO repair budget.

Many of the larger commercial buildings have had tons of renovations over the past five years. It’s simple they are now moving to the garages to improve conditions. Plain and simple

They did the same thing in West Virginia. Spruced up our garages and then sold us to Frontier.

Brightspeed definitely buying us. I just got an offer from them to buy my house for a more than fair price. They are undoubtedly on a buying spree.

They did the same thing a few years ago in our buildings in Maryland and they didn’t sell us

So which is it? Verizon owns most of the buildings or leases most of the buildings?

Verizon does own most of the central offices in pa . The person who posted why they would fix buildings they dont own is mgmt who thinks the rest of us are stupid! They are putting massive amounts into owned buildings and its just getting started.

I transferred from Central Pa to Pittsburgh and they said at my old garage in the past 6 months they have updated the bathrooms, paved the cable yard and parking lot and are getting ready to install all new lighting. There is only about 10 people working out of my old location. I agree, it makes zero sense.

@wmf+1oPsZllG Exactly…so why would they be paying to have them paved, all new lights etc. since they do not own the buildings?

If they sell, vz will remain as a small share holder, similar to the Yahoo deal where they retained 10%

Cosmetic improvements? Verizon doesn't even own the buildings. They lease them.

What is sad is Wireline has some good products for business, not all of them obviously. They should find a way to capitalize on some of it because wireless is not in a growth period which means revenue will continue to decline.

Commenter below says all of wireline will be sold but isn’t clear on what wireline we are talking about. VZB or VZT

I hope so. PA is full of useless techs and water potential. Get rid of it.

Because it would cost too much to run fiber through the entire state
