Thread regarding Ford layoffs

SK Innovation layoffs

SK is partner of Ford and they supplies EV batteries to Ford and VW. This is a sign that Gord will be laying off soon.

Their main problem was on how they expect us to not have defects when quite honestly, there wasn't enough people to watch for that. Then they place the blame on us when we are honestly doing the best we can.

They also have a problem with not listening to their (sk) employees' concerns or suggestions. If anything, a lot of the senior members that I worked with for brief period (yes, I was one of the many who were laid off...), told me they just work and don't think about anything since it's all pretty much ignored.

The company uses three groups. A sub from Mexico, a Korean company called Samkoo, and employees they hired. The biggest problem with this is that Samkoo never wanted to interact with us on pretty much everything aspect. They weren't particularly good at English, which baffles me and they seemed to just ignore anyone who isn't Samkoo or supervisor. I'm Korean, so I tried to ask them questions about the work since I was new. But they looked at me like I'm not worth their time... they were sent here to train us since they knew everything. I learned what I could from my trainer but there were things he didn't know because of Samkoo. There is a clear hierarchy that should not exist in a company in America. Were treated like we are disposable, and in an environment like that, who would actually care to try?

Lastly, when I first got hired, they sent me a Quickstart program. Then at the site, they have safety equipment that aren't being used at all. They seem to be there for show (like when someone from Ford shows up). None of the machines I operated felt safe to "operate" and I bet OSHA would have a lot to say...

There's a lot going on there that they don't want you to know... they tell us to put on security stickers on our phones to cover up our cameras, if it wasn't for that, they would have been exposed already...

Skba in ga let go over half its work force and is planning another round soon and another big o. 11.3 . The vw is out so all but 2 lines on phase 1 or gone an shut down . There also out of room to store any more units for Ford. That's why they shut down the past few day. With out pay. We lost good works an kept bad ones mangers an supervisor had no real say in who they let go . It's was a sad day and will be for a long time as this will only get worse.
