Typically they don't do layoffs in the month after a quarter-end. Maybe on the sales side. But not in operations, credit, accounting, reporting, TOS, usually there is lots of work being done and a sudden layoff would mess things up. That is why November layoffs are more common than October layoffs.

USBank, announced Layoffs are coming to our location in Lafayette, LA . This was announced to office on, the 5th of October.
Union Bank folks were pulled into a big meeting with managers and HR. No surprises considering a 90 -129 day notice. We are still on Union bank severance plan which is way generous. Get 52 weeks severance if with company close to 10 years depending on titles.
Just curious how did you get notified of the layoff? An email from HR out of the blue? A call from your manager? Was it expected or did it catch you by surprise? Did you come over from Union Bank or a heritage US Bank employee?
Lot of folks from Union Bank mapped to TOS were laid off on September 29th and they were given 90+ day notice , plus retention bonus (to some) in addition to severance and pro-rated 2023 bonus. No surprises and no complaints. Leaving happy :-)
