Was told they are starting to track our IP addresses to make sure we are in the office a set number of hours on in office says. Anyone know if this is true?

Fun and games are over. We are now going to return to working, in other words the job for which you applied.
its true, that why i never go to town halls or conference room meetings.
All done via teams and on the network so logging ip hours
Unfortunately our employees started this battle, but the Bank will finish it. Todd was far too kind and far too many employees took advantage of him. Now we’re all suffering for the bad apples in the barrel. What would you expect would happen?
Hate to state the obvious but employees really did break the trust during WFH in the COVID era. Don’t think that the Bank really wanted to do this so much as they were forced into it.
From direct experience, number of hours logged in to the network are tracked, not necessarily from office or home. My peer had to explain to manager last month that his hours on the network are less than expected a month in average. And his explanation was he take lot of calls from phone so laptop login (Independent of office or home) hours are less.
Just an update - statistics for September are present on dashboard now - still no IP tracking - everything is based off swipes at least up to September. cheers

Thanks for confirming so we’re not all speculating
No changes to dashboard so far - everything looks the same - not sure how they could implement tracking between september and october slots

Thanks for acknowledging the Fugio at home routers.
I've mentioned mine to people in the past and they look at me like I have 3 eyes.
I don't.
Curious as to how that router registers though...I'm sure they have a way of knowing it's at my house and not in the office.
Have any managers seen an updated dashboard?
There is no set amount of hours. They said “three times per week”. They never said to be in the office for 2 or 4 or 6 hours. If they did they would be going against their own procedure.
That's why I connect to one of our build machines and log into vds from there.
It's unfortunately true. I heard it from someone in privacy compliance that it started on September 22 and is going to be available on the manager dashboard on October 5. Apparently they rolled it out without running it through compliance first and it's illegal in several countries, so it's caused quite a stir there.
Don't see how they could use this. What if I have a technical issue? Need to restart for updates? Go to an in person meeting and put my PC to sleep? Have to leave a little early? Emergency?
take it for what its worth, but they have the means of seeing what IP's are logged in and how long, but its not blended with the badge swipe data. If they want to look and see people abusing they can (and have), but in general your length of time on network isn't shown next to your swipes.
And I'm not sure they can account for people using one of the fugio at home kits either
I would assume a directive will be sent when the time comes before they enforce it.

What is the set amount of hours?
I’ve heard the rumor, but nobody has ever been able to confirm it
I try to make sure I’m there at least half the day- but they preach work life balance… So that’s what I’m doing
