Canopy is just smoke and mirrors, went from total monitoring of the interior and exterior of a work van to only monitoring a pickup truck bed. Everyone involved with this money losing project should be held accountable and terminated. It’s a complete failure and very expensive.

Peter Stern says he has a patent in “Security System and Alarm Activation Control” so I will bet that canopy is shut down soon, with the CEO going off to spend more time with family. It will never be a real product or profitable.

@7rkw it seems the ADT piece wasn’t well thought out, it’s not easy to connect a vehicle to a land line telephone….two years have gone by since this “subscription service” was announced and they still haven’t figured it out.

I’m looking forward to the canopy revenue numbers being published.

@7lnv+1oVLV2xL - aren’t they LLC? If so, then they are not Ford and they can f their money whichever way they want to.

What happened to the ADT real time monitoring? Canopy’s (out of date headline) website says it is not yet available. Wasn’t that the entire premise of canopy’s value proposition?? Sounds like another major fail for the data and subscription team.

Despite the memo saying don’t spend unnecessary money, the canopy people are out in California spending lots of unnecessary money with spouse in tow.

When did Canopy go from being all this, in Ford’s January 2022 press release, to being only “truck bed monitoring?” It was supposed to be available early 2023, here it is almost 2024 and it just started shipping, minus most of the capabilities it was supposed to have? Where is the accountability?

Offerings will integrate the Safe by ADT platform to provide professional monitoring and help businesses protect valuable work equipment in vehicles and individual owners strengthen security inside and outside vehicles
Canopy will build and sell its first product and subscription service early next year to protect cargo areas of high-volume commercial trucks and vans in the U.S. and U.K.
Canopy was incubated by Ford’s New Business Platform team and plans to begin integrating its security solution with on-board vehicle cameras in Ford vehicles next year

This can’t be true, Phoebe didn’t print a press release about it.

I’m surprised they partnered with a company that onl6 does home s3curity with land line phones. That is exactly like securing vehicles with Wi-Fi.

@1lvk+1oVLV2xL - Was thinking the same thing! I wonder who came up with that name...

I like Kvik better... (that's alert in Danish)...

Why they thought the name canopy was a good idea is beyond me. There are at least a dozen companies with similar names, and canopy just doesn’t make me think of vehicle security. It brings tents and awnings to mind. Bad choice, but consider who chose it…

Better get the canopy sales people busy. To cover Ford Next’s $3 billion annual cost they need 16 million subscribers. I’m looking forward to “canopy sales” numbers to be included in the quarterly sales releases!

@cor launching and healthy are two different things. Healthy would not include having a price tag of double the top competitor, Ring.

I told the negative people in this forum that Canopy is healthy and to just wait until launch. Now you can eat your words. It's launching!

You would think that if shipping begins 10/9 that partner ADT would at least have a mention of it on their website. Only home security, not a word about vehicles.

Since canopy is an LLC, there has to be separate financial statements, but I highly doubt that data will be made public. At $14.99/month, they need over 5,000 subscribers just to cover their CEO’s million dollar salary. This will be added to the long list of Ford failures.

Will Moran take credit for being overpriced and late to market? I can add a Ring vehicle camera with monitoring to my existing Ring home camera network for half the cost. Why would anyone buy canopy?

Ring Protect Go
Secure your car wherever you are.
Keep your Ring Car Cam connected, so you can see live video feed, download recordings, and more, when your car is away from your home wifi. Subscribe for $6/month or $60/year per device.
