Former Exxon here. At competitor prior to, went elsewhere soon thereafter. Literally one of the worst places I have ever worked. If you have never worked any where else, holy cr-p you have no idea the chit you endure everyday. Best decision I ever made was getting outta there quickly.

HR has completed their full takeover.

Centralized staffing authority in which Department Heads do not even have a vote.

HR can now pick any Sponsored id--t without relevant knowledge or experience and place it into a key position for “Development Assignment” while all the qualified people that earned that position are PIP’d. HR will then move the id--t out of that position before any failures can be pinned on their Sponsored Id--t.

The system is fully rigged.

HR will make all decisions.

Fill out your mobility just in case there is a job opening not worthy of a sponsorship chosen individual or if we need to backfill a Sponsored individual in time for you to receive blame.

Best jobs go to incompetent id--t sponsored chosen ones

Move that sponsored chosen one quickly before any blame can be attributed.

Especially inspiring to hear about all the amazing careers that the 12 or so HR people on the call had experienced.

Meanwhile, those of you on the receiving end of this BS system in technical paths can carry on in your JOBS, several rungs below us!

What is super important, is that you fully trust Exxon, fill out an IDP (which will be systematically ignored)... let all of the Hi-Pos take the good jobs around you (which will never be offered to you)... pick up the slack of your underqualified BTC coworkers (which the corporation will continue to protect through separate rankings)... and eventually get ranked out of the company mid-career due to 'poor performance' (vs acknowledging the flawed math behind a relative ranking system and limited coworkers to actually rank against that aren't Hi-Pos).

I attended one last year where the Houston folks came down to Fawley. Waste of time for all at Fawley but these folks got their air miles… and maybe a padp write up… it’s all self promotion. Not there to help staffing and development…
