Once upon a time in, Verizon was known for its achievements. Now at the helm is Hans, a once-revered CEO with a penchant for handball and climate change. However, as time passed, Hans became somewhat complacent and more focused on his next extravagant events rather than the company's performance.
Enter the "Test Farce" – a team not-so-secretly formed by a group of company leaders. Their mission? To test the patience of the company's shareholders by driving the stock so low that they'd have no choice but to fire Hans. Their motto? "Failure is the only option."
Every day, the Test Farce team would brainstorm the most outlandish and seemingly innovative ideas to present to Hans. They pitched concepts like "Underwater 5G Cell Sites" and "5G Edible Phones." Hans, oblivious to their real motives and always eager for the next big thing, lapped up these ideas.
One day, they presented the "Cloudless Computing" model. The idea was to store 5G data in actual physical clouds. "Think about it, Hans," said the leader of the Test Farce, "it's the ultimate in green energy, and the skies the limit!"
Hans, not one to miss a sky-high opportunity, invested billions into 5G drones, weather manipulation technologies on Yahoo, and even a fleet of specially trained birds to act as data couriers. The stock, as Test Farce had hoped, plummeted.
Shareholders were in an uproar. "Why are we investing in pigeon couriers?!" one exclaimed. Another shouted, "I've got a storm cloud of anger brewing!" The final straw came when Hans unveiled the prototype of the "5G Solar-Powered Night Lamp." The board had had enough. Hans was promptly shown the door.
In the aftermath, as the stock began to recover, the Test Farce disbanded, their mission complete. However, they left behind a legacy. The company, now more vigilant than ever, created a new team dedicated to vetting all innovations - they named it "Reality Check."
And thus, in the peculiar world of Verizon, a farce turned into a lesson, reminding everyone that not all that glitters is gold.
