Dame BAD luck calls again for those awesome Pioneer Employees

ExxonMobil knocking on the door again for Pioneer's 60-billion-dollar assets in the Permian Basin, vast cost saving with the combination of the two companies. An oilfield M&A is buying the currently producing long-life wells, the equipment infrastructure and the future inventory of wells that will yield a 10% return per annum, that make money even if oil dips to $50.00/BBL. What is left behind is the retained liability from years of energy production, orphan wells, groundwater remediation, silicosis from sand mines and frac and most important the 90% of the Pioner employees that will be packaged out and never work for Exxon; the bodies of a corporation that no longer exists. Pioneer will simply cease to exist as an oncoming entity once the deal is completed. The 12–18-month packages will be incredible but remember that Uncle Sam will get 35% of the package money, COBRA will cost $1,000 a month, and hope you don't have a preexisting medical condition. For those employees under 55 years of age get the resume out, for those over 55 you are out of the job market forever. Not a good place to be over 55, with gray hair the job market is blind to you and you to it.

Golly I can see that some Mama Pioneer hands have jumped back on this site since 2019 and 2020. There is a saying in the Permian oil patch, if you heard it from the Corp. Office it is a damn lie, if you heard it from the Hwy 80 Office it may be true, if you heard it from a Facilities person, you could take it to the bank. That Dept. leaks like and an old man getting up many times at night; and I cleaned up many a spill from their actions or lack of. I guess my moniker "RET. Earth's Janitor" is busted, may have to change it to my 1990 CB handle "PLANOJIM" Breaker 1-9, over. The reference to napping Grandpa and writing editorials, come on my style cannot be that distinctive. Full disclosure the Thai GF only let me sleep 5 hours last night, and I flunked English in a place called Casper, Wyoming in 1968. The last haircut in LCO 2019 and 2020 got most of the gray hairs. There are 1-2 grays and a "NO HAIR" that run the company, and they are highly qualified. They are NOT 1929 babies, but they have the best crystal ba--s in the industry, or geologic speak "ROCKs". My advice if you are close to retirement, LEGAL RFETIREMENT AGE (LTA) and Social Security remember COBRA is not a qualified plan under Medicare it will result in a lapse of medical coverage, make a mistake here it will cost you $500.00 a month for three years. Do file for unemployment last time about half the people I know got it. In the remaining time 3-5 months if this rocket fires get your dental work done, that lower GI you have put off, get your prescriptions switched to 90 days refills, and have your babies delivered early and save that money in your Medical Saving account. I tried for Food stamps, but the Thai GF likes high end sushi. Oh, snuggle up to your favorite Facilites Department and Environmental person take them to lunch and put several of those top shelf Scotch in them and they will sing like a Wyoming Magpie, just wait until their eyes roll back in their heads. I learned that trick from my good buddy that works down in Victoria way, that boy can fix anything that Pioneer ever broke. Keep your sense of humor. Well, the ole gal Thai GF is hollering, gotta go, till later, ITS BEDTIME.
