New Growth Account roles

My brother is interviewing for a new role at Cisco- Growth Account Manager. He says the role seems interesting but vague. Anyone have insight into this new initiative? Looks like there were/are many openings across the US for this role. His particular role he’s interviewing for is in SLED.

@jxr+1oXpAfhM This is interesting intel. Wish I could ask you more questions directly. With what you know- would you suggest he move forward with the role if he gets it?

Growth AMs will not have a set number of accounts and related goal this FY. They will work on accounts and carry the same quota as the region. The regions started the FY with a quota that was divided out to the AMs then given an uplift for "growth". For this FY that AM will carry a number like 150M. Next FY that AM will be given accounts from the existing AMs and carry a regular quota. The growth name will only last until next July 31st. This is being funded by the cut to commission from 0-50%.

Growth and Account Manager are two separate things. Cisco has stupid titles.

The reason it is vague is because they don't even know what this growth role is for. It is hiring bodies and figuring out what they are supposed to do later. Strangest thing I've ever seen. Companies usually hire as the growth comes, not before.

I agree with last reply. No question company has no more punch. Very tribal work environment.
