Thread regarding Verizon Communications Inc. layoffs

Verizon Fios Out Of Touch with Customers

My Verizon Fios service bundle price has now reached the point where I'm going to cancel.

I politely asked the Verizon service representative today if there were any available account discounts that could be added to reduce my overall bill. Unfortunately, while I repeated my request clearly several times (which he acknowledged he understood) he kept trying to sell me a higher priced package.

With streaming as a solid option, especially for the price, it's no wonder customers are fleeing Verizon ( and other uncompetitive Cable TV providers) in droves.

What does this have to do with Verizon layoffs you might ask? It's called "cause and effect."

Adios Amigo!

If you ask for a cheaper option and they read from their script about the higher priced on repeatedly them that is the answer. They can’t say no to a customer that would be wrong.

@2hum+1oYDXWaI It has nothing to do with it at all. At most, future hiring.

It has a great deal to do with potential layoff. Can’t you read the OP?

I totally understand because i was same when I was in NJ. But I miss fios after I moved to TX. I had Spectrum, but I had to cancel due to very low upload speed. And now I am reluctantly using ATT because that is the only other choice. FIOS was giving me higher speed.

If you leave Verizon, make sure 200% that they've cancelled your service. Keep your receipt from equipment drop off. They have a habit of charging former customers for months. Customers who are receiving service from a competitor.

I'm now using Optimum internet to stream.

No plans to return to overpriced Verizon services.

@"Tv has been dead for years. How is this news?"

You missed the point the customer was trying to convey - i.e., the VZ rep didn't listen to the customer's stated need to reduce the TV bundle price and instead repeatedly tried to SELL HIM A HIGHER PRICED PLAN!

So did you keep the fios internet, or drop it all & go to cumcast?
If you kept FiOS internet, then they really don't care if you dropped the TV portion.
More than likely the higher ups wish they had never started offering it in the 1st place.
The money is in the pipe... the TV just added customers back when people wanted TV.
Now they no longer care about live TV, but they still want the pipe.

I have different experience, the rep is nice and knowledge, give me different option to lower my FIOS bundle price. I am very happy with the service

I just had an experience with wireless where I got nothing but foreign reps who lied to my aunt. They sold her 5G home saying it was fios. Sad thing is fios is available. It took me over 20 calls to get them to cancel that garbage. With fios it took one call. Thanks lady from Massachusetts, you really helped me out. Maybe I will call back and get gigabit service just because of how great she was.

The game has been streaming for years now yet VZ is still too caught up in the free-for-all all-payment rip-offs with content.

Being a reliable pipe is very profitable when you have the best infrastructure, pricing, and customer service.

Oh - wrong company, that's who we used to be.

Now we are run by all manner of foreigners who have absolutely no idea about what it is that American customers want and how much they are willing to pay for it. This ain't Europe, Asia, or South Asia. Americans tip and expect good customer service when they are paying for it.
