Thread regarding Bank of America layoffs

Rapid degeneration

Toxic work ethic has locked up competence and thrown away the key.... Data analytics are inherantly flawed at virtually every level.. indeed, any attempt rally at this point will lack the foundation to do so as the very metrics themselves have failed to capture the reality of the situation. Throwing more and more responsibility at "teams" being carried by one, maybe two people. Those teams proceed to crumble as the work horses falter, and the domino effect keeps going.

Sadly, the anti Corp mentality and verbally strong are herding out any sense of reason to remain as the perceived "end all be all".. Go ask these teams what they know and I'd bet my life savings you'll either be referred elsewhere or get a useless response entirely.

Interested to see how long this can continue

"People are angry and upset. Diversity numbers valued over competence. "
its happening all over the place
a small handful of folks control the media outlets
when you voice your displeasure at what is happening you are either ignored or censored
i don't remember when we had a open and honest discussion about what direction our culture should go in - it looks like someone else made the decision for us
i am starting to feel unrepresented

I totally agree about this toxic work culture. I just come to this shlithole bank everyday and just collect a check. I don't even listen to the conference calls because I am usually on cellphone texting or looking at other job opportunities. This company has really disappointed me. The CEO is a fuhking buffoon and goes on CNN or CNBC and lies about how great of a shlithole bank he leads.

Data management tech is the same and the toxic atmosphere we're working in is growing. People are angry and upset. Diversity numbers valued over competence. Many promotions are given to one group of people that lead 100% offshore resources and no one knows what any of them are doing but we need all these newly promoted senior tech managers and directors.

When is it going to be noticed few people are doing the work of the entire team? The reward for incompetence is awesome if you're one of these people that avoid work! You'll get even less work assigned and another has to pick it because the work doesn't disappear.

Interesting take as we have all witnessed teams being carried by one or more with leadership taking the credit. Unfortunately, we are looking at a distopian pre BM reputation for our company on the horizon. Survey results are useless and no B2 B3 are traveling to see employees so they are insulated from the petri dish environment. There are no round tables with employees that will be honest, just cherry picked favorites propped up to "represent" the employee voice. If you were here in the years before & after the 08 crash then you 1st hand witnessed the culture roller coaster
