Thread regarding Bank of America layoffs

Unionize Bank of America

I mean seriously, the leadership speaks out of both sides of their mouth. In quarterlies they tout how strong the bank is...record profits etc. Then they turn to their employees and say its a challenging market and raises aren't going to be what they would like. Its crazy, how stupid do they think we are!!!

It is time to unionize....this is exactly the cr-p that union leaders will hold business leaders accountable to

Not being in a union hasn't really worked out and waiting around for leadership to pay us a living wage hasn't happened yet so I'd give it a try.

Unions will bring more fees but could shake up the statis quo quid pro quo toxic culture.
Referencing the reply comment above -
My partner and I spent time working in hiring & retention... What location do you work at that has relatives working on the same team? Does either one report to the other? Even if only temporarily, this is a verifiable conflict of interest and the policy on this is very clear and unwavering. . All parties involved could face punishment up to and including termination. How is it going without notice? It sounds like the company might be able to gain some of our much needed attrition right there. If you arent able to report it based on fear of consequence or retaliation, post the information here and someone will report it.
The company no longer wants movers, shakers innovators. The company wants yes people that are not free thinkers.

Not sure why you think Union Leaders are any better. Essentially what you are proposing we do is double down on the problem and pay union dues in the process.

I agree leadership right now is pi-s poor, as is our HR Department who do nothing to stop the extremely visible acts of "friendship" going on (promoting under qualified friends at the expense of those who actually have earned the position). D&I is also a joke with leaders constantly hiring people of their own race and gender then trying to pretend all the organizations are inclusive, but a Union will do very little to solve this and add a layer of problems on their own Union Leaders making in the process.

Let's see 🤔
In our sight they are "edeploying" the wrong people. Who is making these decisions?? We have an all white leadership team so D&I is not the focus, unless you are counting them being women? All women. They just threw hundreds of years of combined Underwriting experience to the wayside so that nepotism & favoritism can supercede. The department next to ours has actual sisters on the same leadership team reporting to the same DFL with little to know Underwriting or mortgage or leadership training. Everyone knows that they are related and that they shouldn't be able to work on the same team. One of the uw leaders has only been there a few years so its confusing how they are deciding who stays and goes. We worked hard to get to where we are and there is no care for the work we put in to get us here. There is no way anyone is safe and no one should feel safe. They are doing what they want to do and in plain sight.
