Thread regarding Ford layoffs

So has this been the plan all along? Scare the white collar workers into doing blue collar jobs?

Having quarterly layoffs in order to scare white collar workers into crossing the picket lines?

"Do it or you're next up kind of thing?"

Sadly I wouldn't put it past our current management.

If you put up a fight, I'm sure you'll be at the top of your managers list when the next hit happens.

Oh, and while I'm thinking about it, if people are picking parts, how will their PR go after that?

I agree completely the talk from senior auto executives during earnings calls is a bunch of BS about things are going great and how they're prepared for the future, but internally it's a mess.

@2fxc+1odl8t2J people have gotten burned by bad american cars for so long, so many times. they make a bit of progress, then they backslide big time.
so the investors realize that a lot of exec pronouncements are just blowin' smoke.
as we do.

Every traditional auto maker is jealous of Tesla's stock price. Not that I am a fan, but investors which one reason it stock is so much higher. So that why they are intent on being more like Tesla. Ford like GM, are using quarterly reviews now and will be more aggressive in getting rid of people.

Shortsighted and silly post. The laptop class elitists are so entitled.

I don't have a problem helping out. I don't consider myself too good to do blue collar work.

What I hate doing though is stepping on the toes of those who may be striking. Seems an extra stab in the back to them.

Unless they plan on permanently shutting all business systems down, there’s still a need for the office people.
