Is there work life balance in honeywell

Does honeywell's culture includes work life balance? If an employee (individual contributor) leaves work on time, no one has an issue. But when a manager leaves office on time based on standard working hours, then the next level manager perceives it as not willing to attend night calls, not willing to do more hours, not involve in more calls. So may I ask what should be the 'right' way?

Get yourself a band 4 job and do feck all whilst getting your minions to do your work just like my manager and director.

There is plenty of work/life balance within Honeywell. You have to make it yourself. Do your job to a satisfactory level and then don't worry about it. If you don't meet all of your metrics, just be prepared to defend yourself with pointing a finger at some other group or person. You will last as long as you want to. I don't suspect that will be long given current Honeywell actions.

There is a lot of balance between the work you do at the office and the work you do at home.

Five days a week, you get to be in back to back meetings all day, making real connections and shaping the future. This is where the balance comes in: because you had the opportunity to shape the future by making real connections in meetings all day (often meeting virtually with someone sitting five feet away from you), once you leave the office at 6 or 7 or 10, you get to commute home where you can resume working in the comfort of your home.

Im guessing they have done some research that shows employees don’t really like their families, as they go the extra mile to give ample opportunities not to spend any time engaged with them.

If you have a home office, you’ll be like “they really have my back by making me not regret having this space. In fact, we could have gotten a place with fewer bedrooms and smaller living spaces, as I get to spend all my time in this one room.”

  • The right way is to document your duties to become part of the next RIF
  • Go home grab a snack, then return emails on same metrics to different functions
  • Get on a 2 hour call with China, India, Romania, and maybe Europe will show up after August holiday while having a morning Cafe
  • Get up and start returning emails at 4:00 AM
  • Accept stretch goals, you know we need to pull ahead revenue

Honeywell’s is your universe. This is what they tell us all the time. Don’t be so negative.

We can’t build enough parts. So then I’m making a whole entire production line work 12 hours a day. I love my future.

You can’t be a future shaper if you’re not working at Honeywell. 365 days a year. You should just be glad you have a job.

I was a Band 4 individual contributor and first week on the job was told by my boss that my job was manager level and he expected me to put in extra time regularly and be available for international calls whenever.

Totally hit or miss, the team I worked with including directors were all out of the door at the standard time and never ever worked evenings or weekends. China however graft, I think they do vast majority of work for Honeywell!!
