Mid Atlantic north meeting tomorrow. Sale to Brightspeed will be announced. Eisp offered 4th quarter. And deal done in April 2024. Time to get serious about retirement.

If the sale is a cutover/conversion where they hand the customers over, not the systems, then yes, expect layoffs in wireline/wireless (upper) management that oversee those areas. Core wireline will get rattled for sure, wireless, not so much.
Verizon mid Atlantic to be sold first.
Only union wireline will be offered a package. Management will see layoffs on both wireline and wireless.
How can they offer wireline a package and wireless nothing? It’s just not fair.
I heard from a director who got it directly from a VP that yes the layoffs and packages are going to happen. They are in talks for at least the former Bell Atlantic wireline. The former NYNEX area has been discussed but there has not been much movement. Haven't heard anything about a certain VP that was mentioned in other posts. Also haven't heard anything about a price tag for the sale.
Regardless of what may happen get your resumes ready just in case.
How many states from within the VZ footprint, non-wireless, assets to be sold?
How soon?
What is the transaction price?
There will be layoffs of managers and a package to union folks to reduce the headcount enough before the sale to Brightspeed. As someone posted our SVP will be heading there and will run the "former VZ area"
Nope. It'll be a standard EIPP. Nothing more. They know they don't need to add anything to the EIPP to get people to leave.
I've heard the same about a 4th quarter EISP. Rumor was possibly a 3 and 3.
@1aod+1ofdZuWX Uhh, you might wanna look into some insulation or something.
@1kea+ - AMEN!!!
All he wants is the votes, once elected - could care less
Wages have not kept up with inflation
We demand a 30 percent raise
My friend works as a tech for Brightspeed (formerly Lumen/CenturyLink). He makes 90K a year plus overtime. He is union. At least with Brightspeed we'd have a great leadership team we all know.
I believe it. Bob Mudge knows how to run the wireline side so why wouldn't he take it on? It'll come with plenty of existing fiber and government money to finish the fiber build. As far as the lead cable issue the value of the copper wire inside the lead sheath will almost completely offset the cost of removal.
Laughable!
@zeh+1ofdZuWX If they give Brightspeed a sweetheart deal it is believable, when you throw in government funding it becomes very believable.
Lead cables with lawsuits and union workforce?? I doubt it
I hate to admit it but ruo+1ofdZuWX is 100% correct.
You would have to living on anther planet to not think this may not be true. Bluejeans - closing shop, not even selling it. HCL / Verizon 2.1B for 6 yr contract. The stock is toast, and they are looking for ever possible means to cut costs in every dept. Our Network, which is what we boasted about is NOT what it needs to be. The company lost focus on trying to buy things to re-sale, rather than focusing on what brings customers to us. We had 12k new users....that's not a lot for 3rd Qrt. Cleanup your resume if your not near retirement...and start looking.
6&6 is coming soon before the sale
Why not a Woman?
We need to RTO, Why haven’t that happened yet?
Normally with a sale like this, there is no EISP or package of any kind. You either move to the new company or quit.
Fake news
F'n troll
no package ,union would not allow it cause they would lose too many member.they dont dont give 2 craps about rhere members.
I heard they will offering a 3 & 3 package in the 4 th quarter
All lies.
