BlueJeans shutting down- $500M down the drain

I remember when we bought BlueJeans in March 2020 and thought this is going to be yet another massive bad decision and a ton of money down the drain by VZ leadership with the shareholders paying the price. Over $500M squandered and no one is held responsible.

Like AOL, GO90, yahoo, and on and on.

Is there any leader at Vz that can make a good decision?

Blackrock has enough shares to force the Board to do whatever they say. If any director goes against them they will not be voted in again, so in that way they have really control Vz. Hans is also on the Blackrock Board, so that kind of tells us how Hans got offered the $20M annual CEO gig in the first place. Will the govt bail out Vz, if thy can't service their billions of debt? Is that the master plan? The govt runs the telco/s. Tell me that can't be.

Everyone who made bluejeans what it was or knew how to sell it walked with their stay bonuses the minute they could - at nearly all levels. Then the VZ elephant drowned whatever entrepreneurial spirit was left.

Bluejeans was a masterpiece of software engineering. Verizon made a fortune on it.

If the "How do you do, fellow kids?" meme was an app, it would be Go90.

There is no way bluejeans could ever compete against Microsoft teams or zoom and that was obvious 2 years ago. But nooooo.

But the product team convinced sr leadership for millions of dollars to add a bunch of bells and whistles to it which and then hired additional sales people etc which cost many more millions, only to have virtually no sales.

Yet, Hans still makes his $20m a year.
He will get his golden parachute very soon and then take a new position at Blackrock.

What a d-mb name. Someone should have rebranded then the minute they became part of the VZ family.
