Thread regarding AT&T layoffs

Headcount Goal ?

Has anyone heard a definite number where T wants the final headcount to be? I suspect 100k is not out of the question.

I think most managers need to realize the odds of getting a surplus letter are quite high, especially in areas outside of the 4 main hub cities. I'm not saying I agree with the company (I don't) but here we are. Have a backup plan and start preparing your job search. AT&T doesn't care about their employees so why should you care about them. Just my 2 cents.

Why won’t the board push for new CEO?

Did anyone ever get the recording of him saying “we need younger employees?”

Not on the official last earnings call but an internal call same day in afternoon.
Seems strange it was never shared.

75K and then we merge with Verizon. Keep the AT&T brand and cut the AT&T employees

It’s really a revenue per employee target that is the goal, not a firm headcount.

Between RTO, layoffs and the potential sale of different orgs, 75k by the end of 2025 I believe is realistic.

Pretty sure if you remove NPW from the current “employee” head count AT&T badged employees are already below 100k.

75k by 2025 is the consensus number on Wallstreet.

At this point I doubt T has a legitimate number in mind, because at the rate the business is shrinking, their desired staffing numbers keep dropping.

I'd be surprised if T had more than 80K employees by the end of next year, because under Stink's leadership they sure won't need that many.

100 is the number I’ve heard multiple times in Staff Meetings.
